Proton eMas has surpassed 20,000 cumulative vehicle sales in less than seven months, making it the fastest electrified vehicle (xEV) brand in Malaysia to reach the milestone.
Announced by PRO-NET, the milestone further cements Proton eMas' position as Malaysia's best-selling xEV brand, with the company claiming a 42.6% share of the country's EV market and a 41.8% share of the overall xEV market during the first half of 2026.

According to the company, demand has been driven by its growing three-model lineup.

The Proton eMas 5 accounted for 60.9% of total sales, making it the brand's best-selling model as more Malaysians embrace affordable electric mobility. Meanwhile, the Proton eMas 7 contributed 15.8%, while the recently introduced Proton eMas 7 PHEV made up the remaining 23.3%, reflecting growing interest in plug-in hybrid SUVs.

PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang attributed the achievement to the trust and confidence shown by Malaysian customers.
"Surpassing 20,000 vehicle sales in less than seven months would not have been possible without the confidence and unwavering support of Malaysians who have chosen Proton eMas. On behalf of everyone at PRO-NET, we extend our sincere gratitude to every customer who has placed their trust in us," he said.
Beyond the sales milestone, PRO-NET said Proton continues to support the government's efforts to accelerate low-carbon mobility through the expansion of its electrified vehicle portfolio.

The company said Proton eMas contributes towards the objectives outlined in Malaysia's Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) and National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) by making electrified vehicles more accessible while strengthening the supporting EV ecosystem.
Alongside its expanding product range, Proton eMas continues to invest in its ownership ecosystem through the expansion of its dealership and aftersales network, as well as collaborations with charging providers to improve charging accessibility nationwide.

Looking ahead, PRO-NET said it will continue investing in new products, customer experience and ecosystem development as it aims to accelerate EV adoption in Malaysia while strengthening Proton eMas' position in the country's growing electrified vehicle market.
