Jaecoo Malaysia has officially announced that the Jaecoo J5 B-segment SUV will launch in the country on March 5, 2026, with an estimated price of RM110,000 – a drop from the initial RM120,000 estimate announced a month prior.
### Super Early Bird Package (Pre-Launch Offer) Buyers who book the J5 before its official launch can enjoy a “super early bird” package worth up to RM8,888, including: - RM3,888 cash rebate (“angpow” rebate) - 1-year free insurance (worth RM3,000) - RM2,000 accessories package (in-car subwoofer, wireless karaoke mic, multi-function flashlight) – perfect for Malaysian families and music lovers.
### Malaysia-Spec Powertrain & Dimensions Unlike Thailand and Indonesia (where it’s an EV), the Malaysian J5 uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (147 PS, 210 Nm), paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive (FWD). Measuring 4,380mm long, 1,860mm wide, 1,650mm tall (2,620mm wheelbase), it’s comparable to the Honda HR-V – slightly wider, taller and with a longer wheelbase, offering more cabin space.
It comes with 18-inch wheels, MacPherson front suspension, multi-link rear suspension and disc brakes – suitable for Malaysia’s urban and suburban roads.
### Interior & Key Features Inside, the J5 boasts a 13.2-inch portrait touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), 8-inch digital instrument display, 50W wireless charger, and TÜV-certified pet-friendly, anti-bacterial faux leather seats. Boot space is 480 litres (expandable to 1,280 litres with rear seats folded).
Standard kit includes ventilated power front seats, dual-zone auto air-con, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, powered tailgate and 8 speakers. ADAS features include AEB, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert with auto brake.
The Jaecoo J5 will compete with popular B-segment SUVs in Malaysia like the Honda HR-V and Proton X50, offering strong value at the estimated RM110k price point.
