2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance launched in Malaysia: 449 PS, 570 Nm, RM 149,800

Three months since the facelifted BYD Atto 3 range was introduced in Malaysia, BYD Malaysia has introduced the top-of-the-range 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance.

Overview

This is the top-spec, most potent version of the Atto 3. Building on the equipment of the BYD Atto 3 Premium, the Performance variant adds a front motor for AWD traction.

Like its other siblings, the Atto 3 Performance is imported (CBU) from China.

It is priced at RM 149,800. 

In typical Sime fashion, the Atto 3 Performance can be had with the choice of two launch packages:

• Option A: Wall charger with standard installation + overtrade worth up to RM 6,000
• Option B: 6-year standard service package + overtrade worth up to RM 5,000

Exterior

 Visually, the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance is almost the same as the Premium variant, which incudes automatic LED headlights with follow-me-home function, Adaptive Front Lights (AFL), 18-inch alloy wheels and panoramic sunroof.

Colour options include Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Gemilang Blue, Harbour Grey, and Ski White.

Interior

The top-spec 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance offers some upgrades over the Ultra and Premium variant, including a head-up display (HUD) and a refrigerator located under the centre armrest. The latter offers both heating and cooling function, with the control knob located conveniently in front.

Powertrain

As the name suggests, the Atto 3 Performance sees the addition of a front-mounted electric motor that bumps the combined output to 330 kW (449 PS) and 570 Nm.

BYD says that the Atto 3 Performance is able to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.0 seconds – 0.2 seconds slower than the BYD Seal Performance. Top speed is rated at 200 km/h.

Power for the Atto 3 Performance comes from a 74.8-kWh LFP battery pack, enabling a WLTP-rated range of 470 km.

Similar to its Premium sibling, the Performance also gets an 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing DC fast charging to hit 220 kW. At its peak 220 kW, it takes just 25 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC).

Similar to other BYD EV models, the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance is backed by:

• 6 years / 150,000 km vehicle warranty
• 8 years / 150,000 km drive unit warranty (motor, motor controller, DC assembly, High Voltage, electric control assembly)
• 8 years / 160,000 km high-voltage Blade battery warranty

To note, the multimedia system, shock absorbers, dust cover, bushing / gasket, wheel bearings, PM2.5 measuring instrument, AC/DC charging port assembly, and USB charging port connector are backed by a shorter 3-year / 60,000 km warranty.

Also, the whole vehicle lights, tyre pressure monitoring module, suspension, and ball joint are backed by a 4-year / 100,000 km warranty.
