Bermaz Xpeng recalls Xpeng X9 over front air suspension issue

Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Xpeng vehicles in Malaysia, has announced a recall campaign for the Xpeng X9, following Xpeng's voluntary recall in China for certain X9 units produced before 11-August 2025.

The recall relates to a potential issue with the front air springs. Vehicles from other production batches are not affected.

Bermaz Xpeng says it is working closely with Xpeng to ensure a smooth and timely recall process for affected customers in Malaysia.

What's covered

For vehicles confirmed to be affected in Malaysia, Bermaz Xpeng will provide a complimentary replacement of the complete front air suspension assembly. Warranty coverage on the front air suspension system will also be extended to 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, calculated from the vehicle's registration date. The extended warranty is transferable to the vehicle.

Bermaz Xpeng is coordinating with regional partners and relevant authorities to ensure parts supply, technical procedures and service capacity are ready for timely implementation.

Customers can contact the Xpeng Malaysia customer service hotline at +603 7627 3883 for enquiries. Affected customers may also book an appointment at an Xpeng Authorized Service Centre via the Xpeng mobile app to arrange the rectification. The company says it will continue to provide updates as preparations progress.
