Fuel prices drop: Unsubsidised RON95, RON97 and diesel all decrease from October 15 - October 21, 2026.

Motorists paying market prices for fuel will get a slight reprieve starting tomorrow, with the Ministry of Finance announcing a decrease across unsubsidised RON95, RON97, and diesel for the period of October 15 to 21.

The latest revision sees RON97 drop by 5 sen from RM5.15 to RM5.10 per litre, while unsubsidised RON95 drops by 5 sen from RM4.67 to RM4.62 per litre. Meanwhile, retail diesel in Peninsular Malaysia decreases by 10 sen from RM5.27 to RM5.17 per litre.

Subsidised fuel prices remain untouched.

Eligible Malaysians under the BUDI95 programme will continue to pay RM1.99 per litre for RON95, while BUDI Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia stays at RM2.10 per litre (RM2.15 per litre in East Malaysia). Prices under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) also remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.

The latest adjustment follows the government's weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), which tracks movements in international fuel prices.

For motorists using unsubsidised RON95 or RON97, this week's 5-sen revision means a 50-litre fill-up now costs RM2.50 less than it did last week, while Peninsular diesel drivers save RM5.00 per full tank.
