MINI Countryman Untamed Edition unveiled with rugged styling, global launch set for early 2027

If you enjoy outdoor adventures and camping, the MINI Countryman Untamed Edition may be just what you're looking for. MINI has unveiled the special edition at Lake Tahoe in the US, with a global launch planned for early 2027.

Exterior

Based on the latest-generation MINI Countryman, the special edition gets a more rugged look, with several details added to suit its outdoor theme.

The front grille features a Dark Steel surround, while the bonnet's Power Dome has a matt black textured film for added protection.

The wheel arches and side skirts are also covered in matt black protective film, helping to protect the bodywork from scratches and stone chips during outdoor trips.

The car rides on 19-inch Untamed Edition Spoke light-alloy wheels. Inspired by off-road steel wheels, they feature a distinctive design, with Dark Steel MINI logos on the centre caps.

The new Frozen Nomad Blue finish is another highlight. It is the first matt paint finish to be offered on a MINI production model.

A special badge on the C-pillar completes the exterior details. It features a blue mountain graphic alongside the Untamed name.

Blue-themed interior

The cabin continues the outdoor theme with Nightshade Blue perforated Vescin seats. The knitted fabric on the seat shoulders and headrests is inspired by rock strata, while Cornflower Blue piping and stitching provide a contrasting detail.

The dashboard and door panels are finished in Millennial Melange, a recycled knitted material that combines dark shades with blue tones.

The centre storage compartment draws inspiration from outdoor backpacks and climbing gear. It features a grey knitted surface crossed by blue elastic cords, secured with a drawstring lock.

Off-road upgrades

The MINI Countryman Untamed Edition is more than just a rugged-looking special edition. Its suspension has been raised by 15 mm, increasing ground clearance by up to 19 mm, depending on the market and powertrain.

For better traction on loose or uneven surfaces, the Countryman Untamed Edition is fitted with Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres. The ABS, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and steering have also been specifically tuned for the model.

Working with MINI's ALL4 all-wheel-drive system, these upgrades provide added grip and control, whether you're commuting during the week, heading into the hills at the weekend or leaving paved roads behind on a camping trip.

The car can tow up to 2,000 kg when equipped with the optional tow hitch, making it suitable for hauling a trailer or other outdoor equipment.

Its roof can support a load of up to 75 kg while driving, with the maximum static load rising to 300 kg when the car is parked.

Camping accessories

For those who prefer glamping to roughing it, MINI has partnered with AUTOHOME to offer a dedicated roof tent for the Countryman Untamed Edition. Customers can also opt for a folding camping table and chair set developed with outdoor gear specialist HELINOX, giving owners the essentials for a camping trip.

Production of the MINI Countryman Untamed Edition is scheduled to begin at the Leipzig plant in November 2026, ahead of its global launch in early 2027.
