Toyota celebrates 60 years of Corolla with exclusive paint and decals, Europe-only

Toyota has introduced the 2026 Corolla 60th Anniversary limited editions for the European market, marking six decades since the model’s 1966 debut and underlining Corolla’s status as the world’s best-selling car with more than 57 million units sold globally. The special-series cars are offered in Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan body styles and go on sale for order now, with customer deliveries expected from the end of October.

The anniversary cars are distinguished by exclusive exterior finishes and bespoke trim. Hatchback and Touring Sports models receive a New Boreal Blue metallic paint in a bi-tone spec with a contrasting Night Sky Black roof and pillars. Both also get new 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels with a matt-and-machined finish and chromed black wheel nuts, plus matt silver lower-bumper and side-sill garnishes, dark-plated fog-light surrounds and matt silver 60th Anniversary decals on the lower rear doors.

Touring Sports adds an additional matt silver highlight across the lower rear bumper. The Sedan carries its own signature Lunar Sky Blue finish and shares most of the wheel and garnish upgrades, while also featuring a matt silver strip along the bottom edge of the boot lid. Customers can also specify Platinum White Pearl or Ash Grey metallic as alternative paint choices.

Inside, the 60th Anniversary specification brings commemorative details such as matt silver scuff plates stamped with the 60th logo and front and rear black textile carpet mats with coordinating matt-silver inserts. The changes aim to raise the perceived specification level rather than alter core cabin layout or seating packaging.

Toyota has kept the Corolla range’s hybrid powertrains for the special editions. Hatchback and Touring Sports buyers can choose between the 1.8-litre hybrid system rated at 140 PS and a 2.0-litre hybrid system producing up to 178 PS for a sportier character. All sedan versions are offered with the 1.8-litre hybrid configuration. Toyota describes these as part of its fifth-generation hybrid technology, emphasising smoothness and fuel efficiency.

Equipment upgrades extend to the digital and connectivity suite. The Corolla lineup now features a fully digital driver display: a customisable 12.3-inch unit, paired with the Toyota Smart Connect+ multimedia system and a 10.5-inch touchscreen. The multimedia package includes cloud-based navigation with live traffic and an embedded route-planning capability, and Toyota will provide new and enhanced functions via over-the-air updates.

Active safety and driver assistance are carried over and standardised through Toyota T‑Mate, the marque’s package of active-safety systems. Included functions cover a Pre-Collision System with Intersection Collision Avoidance, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Lane Trace Assist, Emergency Steering Assist and Road Sign Assist.

The 60th Anniversary editions are presented as a commemorative, higher-spec alternative to standard Corolla models rather than a mechanical or platform change. Toyota positions the special editions to celebrate Corolla’s global reach — the model is manufactured at 12 locations worldwide and sold in some 150 countries — and to underline its long-running production footprint in Europe, where Corolla has been locally produced in Turkey and the UK in past generations.

Orders for the limited editions are open now with deliveries from the end of October. Toyota has not published separate pricing for the 60th Anniversary models in its announcement; local-market prices and allocation details are expected to follow from national Toyota distributors.
