Hyptec HT

2026-10-06 03:50:02

The Hyptec HT is the flagship all-electric mid-to-large SUV from Hyptec (formerly Hyper), the premium sub-brand under GAC AION. As a core offering in the brand's product portfolio, the Hyptec HT is positioned as a "new luxury all-electric SUV". Combining sleek fastback styling, executive-class cabin space, and an efficient electric powertrain, it is engineered to meet the demands of affluent families seeking high-end, intelligent mobility. Since its debut in 2023, the model has served as the key benchmark showcasing the brand’s premium manufacturing craftsmanship and smart tech capabilities.

Model Overview

Positioned as an E-segment all-electric SUV, the Hyptec HT measures 4,935 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,700 mm in height, with an expansive 2,935 mm wheelbase. Its defining highlights centre on an "executive-class five-seater cabin", a "high-efficiency dedicated EV platform", and a "standout gull-wing rear door design". Key selling points include:

Cabin and boot space: Built on the premium AEP 3.0 dedicated EV architecture, its generous proportions afford exceptional interior room. The rear backrests recline up to 143 degrees for a lounge-like first-class seating experience, complemented by a cavernous boot capacity.

Exterior styling: The SUV sports a sweeping fastback silhouette delivering an ultra-low drag coefficient. The distinctive gull-wing rear doors featured on range-topping variants not only elevate road presence, but also offer unmatched convenience for passenger ingress and egress in tight parking spaces.

Family practicality: The cabin prioritises comfort for all passengers, boasting a "Nap Mode", a front passenger "Queen Seat" with ottoman support, and plush Nappa leather upholstery to cater to long-distance road trip comfort.

Development History

Brand inception (2023): The Hyptec marque was officially introduced in 2022 to spearhead GAC AION's upmarket push. In October 2023, the Hyptec HT made its world premiere before officially going on sale in China in November of the same year.

Market expansion (2024–2025): Alongside domestic product updates, the Hyptec HT aggressively expanded into global markets. In 2024, the model officially debuted across Southeast Asia, launching in regional markets such as Thailand and Indonesia as the vanguard of Hyptec's internationalisation drive.

Rebranding and restructuring (2026): In 2026, the marque underwent a strategic overhaul, unifying its global brand name from "Hyper" to "Hyptec". Concurrently, the Hyptec HT received a model-year refresh as the pillar of the lineup. GAC Group also consolidated Hyptec and AION under a unified business division to maximise operational efficiency and sales channel synergy.

Market Performance

Target demographic: Geared predominantly towards middle-class buyers aged 25 to 45 who value lifestyle quality, cutting-edge automotive tech, and regular family travel.

Competitive landscape: In the RM200,000 to RM300,000 price bracket, the Hyptec HT competes against established new-energy contenders, including models from pure-EV brands (such as the XPeng G6) and mainstream legacy marques transitioning to electric mobility (such as the BYD Song and BYD Tang series).

Global presence: The Hyptec HT has established a solid foothold in export markets, particularly across the ASEAN region, standing out as a premier contender in the executive EV segment. Hyptec’s concurrent rollout of dedicated EV charging networks has also served as a vital differentiator in cementing its local market presence.

Core Technologies

Powertrain architecture: Underpinned by the AEP 3.0 platform, the SUV features a high-performance electric drive unit. Available across multiple battery configurations, it delivers a maximum driving range of up to 825 km (CLTC cycle), catering effortlessly to long-distance, cross-state road trips.

Charging capabilities: Built on an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture, selected variants support ultra-fast DC charging—capable of recouping over 400 km of range in just 15 minutes under optimal conditions, drastically cutting down charging downtime.

Smart tech & ADAS: Equipped with the ADiGO intelligent cockpit powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, the system supports advanced voice recognition alongside comprehensive highway and urban semi-autonomous driver assistance systems. The sensor suite incorporates LiDAR and high-precision sensors to ensure top-tier driving safety and response times.

Future Plans

Heading into 2026, Hyptec continues to accelerate its global expansion and tech roadmap. The Hyptec HT lineup will receive continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates to refine its digital cockpit interface and expand the operational capabilities of its autonomous driving algorithms. In terms of product planning, R&D is currently underway for next-generation models, reinforcing its brand pillars of "premium, electric, and intelligent". Furthermore, with GAC Group's overseas assembly hubs (such as its plant in Thailand) coming on stream, production capacity for the Hyptec HT and its derivatives will increasingly cater to global export markets, cementing its status as a core player representing China's high-end EV sector worldwide.
