The Jetour T2 (marketed in China as the Jetour Traveller and Traveller C-DM, previously known as the Shanhai T2) is a D-segment "light off-road" SUV launched by Chery Holding Group’s Jetour brand. Serving as a flagship model under Jetour’s "Travel+" strategy, it blends a monocoque chassis with boxy, rugged retro styling, bridging the gap between urban daily driving and light trail adventures. Priced between RM139,900 and RM209,900, the Jetour T2 is exported globally as a core strategic model across key left-hand drive and right-hand drive markets, including the Middle East, Russia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The core ethos of the Jetour T2 revolves around "light off-roading". Ditching the traditional body-on-frame setup of hardcore 4x4s like the Tank 300, it utilises a high-rigidity monocoque body to achieve the ideal compromise between on-road refinement, fuel economy, and off-road capability. Key highlights include its bold, squared-off upright profile, a rear-mounted external cargo storage box, BorgWarner intelligent all-wheel drive (XWD), and an advanced PHEV setup. The line-up features 1.5T and 2.0T pure petrol options paired with 7DCT or 8AT gearboxes, as well as the C-DM plug-in hybrid range driven by the Kunpeng Super Hybrid system.
Inception and the Light Off-road Craze (2023): In September 2023, the Jetour Traveller (badged overseas as the Jetour T2)—penned by a former Porsche designer—made its official debut in China. Conceived as a bridge between a city cruiser and a rugged off-roader, it quickly capitalised on the booming "boxy SUV" trend with impressive off-road metrics, including a 28° approach angle, 30° departure angle, and 700 mm water-wading depth.
Powertrain Diversification and Electrification (2024–2025): In April 2024, the line-up welcomed its first plug-in hybrid variant, initially christened the "Shanhai T2". To streamline global brand positioning, Jetour officially integrated and rebranded the hybrid model as the "Traveller C-DM" at its Travel+ Conference in November 2025 (unified under the Jetour T2 nameplate for export markets), introducing high-spec fully automated parking and ten-layer ergonomic comfort seats.
Smart Tech and Global RHD Expansion (2026): The latest 2026 model year brought a comprehensive generational refresh. Both the ICE and C-DM hybrid variants received major upgrades, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 cockpit chipset with 24GB of RAM, topped off by the flagship Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0 advanced driver assistance system. Concurrently, mass production of right-hand drive (RHD) models commenced, accelerating the brand's dealership expansion into key Southeast Asian green-mobility hubs like Malaysia and Indonesia.
The Jetour T2 range has emerged as a smash hit among Chinese domestic SUVs in recent years. Latest rolling sales figures show global deliveries swiftly crossing the 400,000-unit mark, making it one of the fastest-selling contenders in the rugged/lifestyle boxy SUV category. In its home market, the model consistently records over 10,000 monthly registrations, going head-to-head with rivals like the Haval Big Dog. Globally, the Jetour T2 enjoys massive visibility across premium automotive hubs in the Middle East (such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia), Eastern Europe, and Latin America, gaining strong traction across both private and commercial fleet sectors thanks to far superior ground clearance, passability, and on-board tech compared to conventional segment rivals.
In line with its "urban comfort meets off-road capability" philosophy, the Jetour T2 packs several of Chery Group's flagship engineering solutions:
Dimensions and Off-road Geometry: Measuring 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width, and 1,880 mm in height (including the rear-mounted spare wheel/cargo box), it sits on a 2,800 mm wheelbase. Off-road credentials include an approach angle of 28° (up to 39° on higher specs), a departure angle of 30°, a 25° breakover angle, and 205 mm of minimum ground clearance. Suspension comprises a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link independent setup.
Dual Powertrains: ICE and C-DM Hybrid:
Kunpeng Petrol Range: The primary petrol variant runs a 2.0TGDI turbocharged direct-injection engine churning out 187 kW (around 254 PS) and a hefty 390 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (higher-spec variants receive a Magna 8AT paired with BorgWarner's 6th-generation torque manager and an electronic limited-slip differential, forming the fully automated XWD system).
Super Hybrid C-DM Range (marketed as i-DM in select export markets): Combines a 1.5TD dedicated hybrid engine with a 3-speed DHT dual-motor drive unit, producing a combined output of 280 kW and 610 Nm of torque. Fitted with an LFP battery pack of up to 43.24 kWh, it delivers up to 212 km of pure electric range under CLTC testing (around 100 km under WLTC cycles) and an overall cruising range exceeding 1,300 km, with vehicle-to-load (V2L) bidirectional power supply ranging from 2.2 kW to 6.6 kW.
Smart Digital Cockpit: The dashboard houses a floating 15.6-inch high-definition central touchscreen with full wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support for overseas units. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 processor, cabin appointments also include a 6.4-litre compressor-driven heating/cooling fridge inside the centre armrest, double-glazed acoustic glass, and a 12-speaker Sony premium surround sound system.
Submarine-grade Monocoque and Huawei ADAS: The high-strength steel composition in its cage body structure reaches 80%, yielding an exceptional torsional rigidity of 31,000 Nm/deg for class-leading structural stiffness without a ladder frame. On the active safety front, the 2026 flagship grade is equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0 and CAS 4.0 omnidirectional collision avoidance, augmented by a 540° HD panoramic camera system (with a 180° transparent underbody view), bringing urban semi-autonomous driving to the light off-road segment.
Amid tightening global emissions standards and the rapid adoption of autonomous driving tech, Jetour’s forward-looking pipeline for the T2 will focus on: rolling out C-DM plug-in hybrid variants across key RHD markets like Southeast Asia and South Africa to leverage green incentives and avoid high tariff barriers; delivering Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates to refine multilingual voice AI and low-speed off-road crawl modes tailored to local terrains and climates; and expanding the official "Travel+" accessories line with factory modular bolt-ons, including side-access ladders and roof-mounted tents.
