Development History

Initial Stage (1997—2008)

In 1997, KAMA was officially established in Shouguang City, Shandong Province. Initially focusing on the production of agricultural transport vehicles and small cargo vehicles, it gradually accumulated manufacturing experience. Around 2000, KAMA began to transform into the formal cargo vehicle manufacturing sector, initially establishing product R&D and quality management systems.

Capacity Expansion and Strategic Cooperation Period (2009—2013)

In 2009, the company launched the 150,000-unit cargo vehicle and parts production base construction project with an investment of 1.83 billion yuan, introducing professional automotive production lines such as stamping, welding, coating, and final assembly, as well as testing lines. The body welding adopted robot automatic welding technology, and the body coating used robot automatic spray systems, achieving process automation and environmentally friendly production. In 2010, Dongfeng Automobile shares participated in KAMA, achieving strategic cooperation and jointly establishing Shandong Dongfeng Kama Vehicle Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Dongfeng Kama), further promoting the improvement of product R&D and quality management levels. In 2011, the 150,000-unit cargo vehicle and parts production base project was officially completed and put into production. The four major process production lines representing domestic advanced levels were fully operational, pushing the company into a new stage of scaled development.

New Energy Transformation and Qualification Acquisition Period (2014—2018)

In 2014, KAMA successfully obtained new energy vehicle production qualifications and officially entered the new energy commercial vehicle sector. In the same year, the company completed its automated production line and passed ISO9001 quality system certification and CCC mandatory product certification. In 2017, the KAMA Ganzhou Branch began formal construction and achieved production in 2019. Stamping-welding, coating, and final assembly workshops, as well as auxiliary facilities such as the vehicle frame and cargo box combined factory building, were completed, demonstrating remarkable construction speed. The Ganzhou base plans an annual production of 100,000 new energy vehicles and micro and light cargo vehicles, becoming an important pivot for KAMA to layout the southern market.

High-Quality Development and Globalization Upgrade Period (2019 to Present)

In 2019, the company completed the Ganzhou branch project and the cargo vehicle (new energy vehicle) R&D and testing platform construction project, significantly improving automation and intelligent manufacturing levels. In recent years, the company has successively won multiple honorary titles such as "Advanced Collective of Central Enterprises", "Provincial Industrial Design Center", "Provincial Industrial Internet Platform", and "Provincial Industrial Internet Benchmark Factory". The enterprise has accumulated holding 93 national patents and constructed a marketing network covering the country and a layout in overseas markets.

In 2025, KAMA achieved major breakthroughs in two major sectors: new energy and overseas business. The total export delivery value for the whole year of 2025 increased by 80% year-on-year, and the order volume in the Southeast Asian market from January to February doubled compared to the same period. In December 2026, KAMA held the 2026 Partner Conference in Weifang with the theme "Gathering Momentum to Start a New Journey, Joining Forces to Win the Future", looking forward to the strategic deployment of 2026, which is the opening year of the "15th Five-Year Plan".
