On June 12, the 150,000th BJ30 Explorer vehicle rolled off the production line, becoming the light off-road SUV to achieve this sales volume in the shortest time. The simultaneously launched Highlight Edition officially went on sale, with two models. The official guide price ranges from 112,900 to 139,900 RMB.
After adding a 30,000 RMB super trade-in subsidy for the entire series, the trade-in price for all models starts from 69,900 RMB, and the actual entry threshold for the Highlight Edition starts from 82,900 RMB.
In 2025, China's total off-road SUV sales exceeded 1.3 million units, up 25.18% year-on-year. Box-style light off-roading, with its affordable price of 100,000 to 200,000 RMB, has captured nearly 70% of the market share. Light off-roading is moving from professional circles to the general public families.

The BJ30 Explorer is equipped with the industry-leading "Tri-Motor Four-Wheel Drive Six-Mode" HEV hybrid architecture. The Highlight Edition increases the rear motor power from 55kW to 70kW, making merging on ramps, starting at intersections, and overtaking on mountain roads more responsive.
The hybrid system combined output 301kW/685N·m, with 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.59 seconds. Intelligent 4WD response is only 30 milliseconds, reaching peak torque in 0.5 seconds. Mud, sand, snow one-key switch, beginners can also handle it calmly.
Equipped with a high-performance AGM battery, the cycle life reaches 3 times that of a ordinary battery. The whole vehicle charging efficiency reaches 99%, supported by Porsche-level turbocharging technology, power output is long-lasting and stable.
CCTV Finance live-streamed the teardown of a BJ30 Explorer driven for 150,000 kilometers. The engine turbine is clean, carbon buildup is minimal, the transmission has no oil leaks, gears are unworn, and the battery pack has no bulging or leakage. The subframe and suspension arms are not rusted, and the chassis flatness is very close to a new car.

The BJ30 Explorer is 4730mm long, with a wheelbase of 2820mm. A 66% ultra-high space utilization rate, the wheelbase leads among box-style SUVs in the same price range. Compared to Haval Big Dog wheelbase 2738mm, Jetour Traveler 2800mm, the advantage is obvious.
Three-row seven-seat layout, 1.8-meter adults still have space in the third row. Trunk volume 1496 liters, rear seats fold flat instantly becoming a 1.92-meter big bed. 38 storage spaces throughout the car, camping gear, strollers, and suitcases have their place.

The BJ30 Explorer Hybrid version has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.45L/100km. Bloggers from five countries—South Africa, Indonesia, UAE, Poland, Mexico—tested it, and every country achieved a result of under 5 liters per 100km.
One tank of fuel range exceeds 1000 kilometers. No need to find charging piles, refuel and go, saving dozens of hours of recharging time every year. First owners enjoy lifetime warranty for the whole vehicle, no high-voltage battery safety hazards, maintenance is simple, parts are sufficient.
Compared to same-level 2.0T fuel models, power is stronger, fuel consumption is lower. Compared to PHEV models, no charging anxiety, body is lighter, off-road performance is not compromised.

The Highlight Edition adopts a classic box-style shape, Five Arch Star Ring cross light groups are conspicuous and cool. Full set of Inductive trendy modification kit, exclusive star ring wheels, front and rear same-color sport bumpers. Brand new orange interior with metal texture trim, texture and layering both possessed.
Added front seat heating and ventilation, steering wheel heating, rainfall sensing automatic window closing. 64-color ambient light moves with music rhythm. 10-speaker HiFi audio system. The Highlight Edition is not a simple facelift, but a comprehensive evolution based on the real feedback of 150,000 users.

Budget 70,000-100,000, families buying their first car wanting a box-style SUV. Entire series trade-in price starts from 69,900, Highlight Edition starts from 82,900. This price steps into the territory of Haval Big Dog (90,000 level) and Jetour Traveler.
City families who love camping on weekends and occasionally drive on bad roads. Three-row seven seats + 1.92-meter big bed + 1496L trunk, no need to charge, no anxiety about range, refuel and go.
Pragmatic buyers who do not want to pay too high a premium for "off-roading". The BJ30 Explorer is not a hardcore off-roader, it takes "light off-roading" to the extreme: can load, can drive, can save, can go off-road.

The 34th Hexagram of the "I Ching" "Thunder Heaven Great Strength" says: "Great Strength, favorable perseverance." Great Strength Hexagram, upper Zhen lower Qian, Thunder travels in the sky, strong and moves. It is exactly the spiritual portrayal of light off-road SUVs—having power, and knowing self-restraint.
First Line "Strong on the toe, expedition brings misfortune, there is faith" — If toes have strength and rashly proceed, there will be danger, need to have faith. Light off-roading cannot truly treat as hardcore off-roading to rush. Second Line "Perseverance brings good fortune" — Stick to the right path is good. Do the "light" job well: can walk on bad roads, can carry things, can save fuel money.
Top Line "Ram hits the fence, cannot retreat, cannot achieve" — Ram hits the fence, caught in advancement and retreat. This is exactly the dilemma of many families: want SUV space and passability, but do not want to bear high fuel consumption and high price.
The BJ30 Explorer's solution is: no retreat (retain box-style space and passability), no advance (do not blindly pile off-road configurations to push up price), but find a balance point in the middle. 150,000 users voted with their feet, proving this path is passable.
Great Strength Hexagram says "favorable perseverance" — direction is right, persisting is victory. 70,000-level box-style light off-roading is making more families use a non-compromising way to walk towards an unrestricted life.
Welcome to watch "Reading I Ching in a Car".

In the Chinese SUV market, there is an unwritten chain of disdain: BEVs look down on PHEVs, PHEVs look down on hybrids, hybrids look down on ICE. But interestingly, when this chain is placed into the specific scenario of 'light off-roading', it instantly fails.

On June 12, the 150,000th unit of the BJ30 Wanderer rolled off the production line at the BAIC Zhuzhou Super Factory. The Chinese light off-road SUV reached 150,000 units the fastest. It is not the most expensive one, not the toughest one, but the only box-shaped SUV that chose the HEV route.
150,000 people chose HEV, and this is the interesting part.
An Overlooked Contradiction
What powertrain route should light off-road SUVs ultimately choose?
Pure electric? Suitable for city use, long-distance travel without worrying about charging frequency, but off-roading is not feasible.
Plug-in hybrid? Can run on oil or electricity with a built-in large battery, off-roading carries risks, mostly used as a pure electric vehicle.
HEV? Electric at low speeds, strong power, engine runs in the most efficient range.

Three solutions, each with pros and cons. But if you must choose one with the 'least penalty', HEV is clearly the cleanest. This conclusion isn't derived by me, it is an inherent advantage of HEV.

What does 'Three Engines, Four-Wheel Drive, Six Modes' mean?
BJ30 Wanderer's HEV architecture is called 'Three Engines, Four-Wheel Drive, Six Modes' by Beijing Off-Road. The name is impressive, but the logic is actually very clear when broken down.
Why 'Three Engines' instead of 'Two Engines'? Traditional HEVs—including Toyota THS, Honda i-MMD—are all dual-motor: one engine plus one drive motor. Sufficient for city scenarios, but light off-roading requires low-speed torque burst and independent four-wheel drive torque distribution. A dual-motor front-wheel-drive based architecture clearly falls short when encountering cross-axles or single-wheel slip.

BJ30 has an additional rear axle drive motor. The three power sources perform their respective duties: the engine is responsible for efficient cruising, the front motor for daily start-up energy supplementation, and the rear motor for low-speed torque burst and rear-wheel drive power available anytime. This isn't 'more motors, more selling points', it is a rigid demand for four-wheel drive capability in light off-roading scenarios, forcing a technical choice.
Six working modes: Pure electric, Series, Parallel, Engine direct drive, Energy recovery, Parking charge, covering all scenarios from city traffic jams to highway cruising to climbing and getting unstuck.
You don't need to use your brain to choose, the system judges and switches itself. This is the true value of HEV in light off-roading scenarios: it's not asking you to choose among six modes, it's letting the six modes choose for you.
In terms of recovery capability, the electronically controlled torque distribution between front and rear axles happens at millisecond levels via the central lock. Four-wheel electronic limited slip intervenes in 0.03 seconds to distribute single-wheel torque. With a max wheel-end torque of 5928N·m, mud, sand, and cross-axles are a breeze.
But to clarify the boundary: BJ30's 'wildness' is going on unpaved roads on weekends with family to watch the sunset, not carrying a winch into uninhabited areas. Understand this point, and you know it has already surpassed most SUVs.
Real-world fuel consumption across five countries does not exceed 5L
'Fuel efficiency' is a term almost worn out in automotive marketing. BJ30 underwent testing abroad, with bloggers from five countries conducting real-world tests under extreme road conditions in their respective countries. South Africa wildlife reserve unpaved roads: 4.9L, Indonesia morning rush hour congestion with AC on: 5.0L, UAE high-temperature desert: 4.9L, Poland ice and snow winding mountain roads continuous climbing: 4.85L, Mexico 105km bumpy stone roads: 4.4L.
These scenarios are closer to the real-world usage environment of light off-roading users than any standard working conditions.

We can also do the math: driving the same 15,000 km a year, calculated at 0.65 yuan/km, the most fuel-efficient SUV in the same class costs close to 10,000 yuan in fuel annually, while the BJ30 Wanderer HEV costs about 6,000. Saving 4,000 a year means for family users with a 70k to 100k yuan budget, car maintenance doesn't require an extra burden.
Highlight Edition Upgrade
The Highlight Edition launched synchronously this time made three upgrades on the HEV architecture: rear motor power increased from 55kW to 70kW, VGT variable geometry turbocharger added, AGM long-life battery replaces ordinary battery.

Translated into plain language, rear motor power increased by 27%, power follows better when changing lanes to overtake, no need to wait for RPM climb; VGT allows turbo intervention at low RPMs, starting is lighter and quicker; AGM battery cycle life is 3 times that of ordinary batteries.
Reason for the three upgrades: Not adding configurations, but fixing shortcomings. Addressing the pain points most easily perceived in daily driving.
150,000 units, what does this mean for Beijing Off-Road?
Beijing Off-Road has been doing hardcore off-roading for over sixty years. The 150,000 units of BJ30 mean a hardcore off-roading brand stepping out of the hardcore circle for the first time and being accepted by mainstream family users. Among these 150,000 people, most might not have looked at Beijing Off-Road seriously before; they aren't chasing the brand of 'Off-Road Family', but a simple arithmetic question: 70,000 yuan, hybrid box-shaped, fuel-efficient, spacious, and can occasionally handle rough roads. Once calculated clearly, pick up the car.

Let's talk about HEV
HEV downsides: No green license plate, no purchase tax exemption, in restricted cities this is a fatal flaw; Pure electric range battery is small, don't expect to drive it as an EV;
But if you are not in a restricted area, are internally repulsed by charging, want a car that is fuel-efficient for daily use, powerful enough for light off-roading, you like camping and fishing on weekends, and can drive away starting from 70,000 yuan, HEV is more suitable in this usage scenario than plug-in hybrid and pure electric.
We are not saying pure electric or plug-in hybrid are bad, but technology has no absolute advancement or backwardness, only in specific conditions, suitability is most important.
But in this harsh market of 'wanting it all' called light off-roading, at least for now, the score BJ30 HEV delivers is the highest.

Zhuzhou, Hunan, BAIC Super Factory.
On June 12, 2026, a BJ30 Voyager that had traveled 150,000 kilometers was slowly pushed onto a disassembly stand. CCTV cameras focused on every screw, every weld, and every moving part that had run for over 100,000 kilometers. This was not a routine quality showcase; it was a 'confession' directed at the entire internet.
Meanwhile, the 150,000th BJ30 Voyager rolled off the production line of the same factory. From 0 to 150,000, it took one year and three months. China's fastest record for the light off-road SUV category was quietly broken by a 'square box' vehicle.

Along with the record came a new version—the BJ30 Voyager Highlight Edition, and an extremely aggressive number: super trade-in price for the entire series starting at 69,900 yuan.
Off-roading doesn't need a 'pedestal', it needs 'democratization'
For a long time, 'off-roading' in the minds of Chinese consumers has always been bound to a few keywords: expensive, high fuel consumption, niche, hardcore. It belongs to the poetry and distance of the few, not the daily necessities of the majority.
On the first day of BJ30 Voyager's appearance, it tried to tear down this wall. It kept the rugged contour of the boxy car but packed in a HEV hybrid system; it provided a wheelbase of 2,820 millimeters and a seven-seat layout, but reduced fuel consumption to below 5 liters per 100 kilometers; it can handle gravel roads in South Africa and rainforest mud in Indonesia, but only requires 92 octane gasoline, and travels over 1,000 kilometers on one tank.
This is not compromise, it is redefining. The essence of light off-roading is not to let everyone climb Haohan Slope, but to let every family drive off paved roads without burden, to camp, to fish, to look at scenery long desired. What BJ30 Voyager achieved is not just lowering the threshold for off-roading, but zeroing the psychological cost of 'setting off'.
Highlight Edition: Not adding specs, but responding
Every successful car model faces a choice when iterating: upgrade according to the engineer's will, or adjust according to user feedback?
BJ30 Voyager Highlight Edition chose the latter. The usage data, maintenance records, and complaint hotspots of 150,000 owners were disassembled, classified, and converted into engineering language. Thus we saw that the upgrade list for Highlight Edition almost all pointed to real pain points: AGM dedicated battery, cycle life is three times that of ordinary batteries — solved the old problem of difficult winter starting for users in the north; rear axle motor power increased from 55 kilowatts to 70 kilowatts — solved power lag when loading fully and merging onto ramps; Porsche VGT variable geometry turbocharging technology pushes whole-vehicle charging efficiency to 99% — solved the experience drop of hybrid models driving with low battery for a long time.

As for appearance, the three Highlight car paint colors—Lava Orange, Dome Blue, Cold River Gray, five-wedge star ring through light groups, orange metallic texture interior—these are not icing on the cake, but respect for the aesthetic rights of young family users. They don't want to spend 100,000 yuan to buy a car that looks like an 'elderly happiness box'.
The Highlight Edition is not a one-time configuration stacking, but a systematic product power calibration. Its underlying logic is: You say where it's not good enough, I'll fix there. This 'user sovereignty-style' iteration is still a first in the light off-road sub-market.

150,000 kilometer 'naked inspection', more persuasive than any ad
Quality communication in the automotive industry has long been trapped in a 'number race' loop. Million-kilometer durability test, minus 40 degrees cold start, high altitude plateau limit calibration… These data certainly have meaning, but their distance and laboratory attributes make consumers always separated by a layer of glass.
BJ30 Voyager's 150,000 kilometer disassembly chose a nearly 'brutal' transparency. Under CCTV lenses, the engine turbine is removed: very little carbon buildup, blades undamaged, power output still online; transmission case is opened: no leakage, gear meshing surface smooth as new; battery pack is cut open: no bulging, no leakage, no obvious capacity decay; chassis is lifted: sub-frame, suspension arms no rust, flatness and similar to new car.
These images have not been beautified with any filters. Flying in the barrage is not 'so amazing', but 'so domestic cars have become like this'. This is a silent shock.
150,000 kilometers, equivalent to the usage intensity of ordinary families for nearly ten years. When a car maintains mechanical qualities close to new at this node, its residual value, maintenance costs, and travel security are no longer sales pitches, but verifiable facts. Beijing Off-road dares to take the whole family apart and show it to the whole internet, essentially declaring an attitude: quality is not calibrated, it is driven.

Trade-in subsidy of 30,000 yuan, turning light off-roading into a 'national option'

Starting at 69,900 yuan, what does this number mean in the 2026 Chinese car market?
It means a young person who just started working can own a boxy car that can fit the whole family, go anywhere, with a cost of less than four cents per kilometer, using their own savings plus a small amount of support from parents. It means a second-child family doesn't need to sell their old house to trade an old sedan for a seven-seat SUV. It means the word 'light off-roading', once carrying a bourgeois filter, finally returned to its essence — an inclusive travel method.

Series-wide 30,000 yuan trade-in subsidy, no brand limit, no vehicle age limit, no mileage limit. This is no longer a marketing strategy, it is a market strategy. The signal transmitted is very clear: Beijing Off-road doesn't want to be just a top player in the sub-market, it wants to be the 'water plant' for this category — let off-roading flow like water into the garage of every ordinary family.

And the five-tier exclusive privileges launched simultaneously — lifetime vehicle warranty, 0 down payment finance, referral reward, OTA lifetime free, basic traffic lifetime free — is a closed-loop design that reduces 'ownership cost' to the minimum. Affordable to buy, afford to use, afford to repair, afford to replace, the four 'affordables' constitute the most solid moat for BJ30 Voyager.
Back to the disassembled car at Zhuzhou factory. Its owner perhaps doesn't know, his car became the hardest 'ambassador' in the history of China light off-roading. But it is precisely tens of thousands of such ordinary people, with 150,000 purchases, that voted for a new category.

The significance of BJ30 Voyager is not about how many sales records it created, but that it answered an industry question long avoided: Does there exist a car that can be bought by young people, can fit the whole family, can make fuel consumption no longer a burden, and can let you go wild occasionally?

In the current Chinese automotive market, when a brand chooses a more affordable route, it often means facing more critical eyes: if the price is lower, will quality shrink? If the threshold drops, will the experience suffer?
On June 12, Beijing Off-road gave its own answer at the Zhuzhou Super Factory. On this day, the BJ30 Traveler welcomed the roll-off of its 150,000th vehicle, and simultaneously released a new version 'Highlight Edition'. For any model, 150,000 units is a number worth marking, but for a 'Light Off-road' Box-style SUV, this number carries much more weight.

It means that the road of 'Affordable Off-roading' that Beijing Off-road has always insisted on has been successfully walked.
How a car defines 'Affordable'
If I had to use one word to summarize the BJ30 Traveler's product philosophy, the most accurate might be 'Pragmatic'. It is not a car that tries to crush opponents in every parameter, but offers solutions beyond expectations in dimensions that users truly need.

First is the powertrain. The BJ30 Traveler is equipped with an HEV hybrid architecture known as 'Three-Engine Four-Wheel Drive Six Modes', which is also the first vehicle in the Chinese Box-style SUV category to adopt HEV hybrid technology. The composition of this system is not complicated: a hybrid dedicated engine with thermal efficiency reaching 41%, plus front and rear drive motors, responsible for long-distance energy saving, real-time replenishment, and instantaneous explosion. The intelligent four-wheel drive response speed can reach 30 milliseconds, outputting peak torque within 0.5 seconds. More importantly, the six working modes will automatically select the optimal scheme, keeping the powertrain in the best state at all times.

Second is space. The BJ30 Traveler adopts a three-row seven-seat layout, with a wheelbase reaching 2820 mm, and a space utilization rate of 66%. The trunk volume can be expanded to a maximum of 1496 liters, forming a 1.92-meter large bed after the rear seats are folded down. The third row space allows adults 1.8 meters tall to still feel spacious. There are 38 storage locations in the whole car, basically every passenger's personal items can find a suitable location.

Then is economy. Recently, automotive bloggers from South Africa, Indonesia, UAE, Poland, and Mexico five countries conducted actual tests on the BJ30 Traveler. The result was that in each country, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers of this car did not exceed 5 liters, and the range of one tank of fuel exceeded 1000 kilometers. No need to find charging stations, just refuel and go. For first-time owners, Beijing Off-road also provided lifetime whole vehicle warranty.
The combination of these three dimensions constitutes the underlying logic of BJ30 Traveler 'Affordable': it makes a Box-style SUV capable of light off-roading become enough useful, enough worry-free, enough cheap.
Highlight Edition: Adding more on the existing basis
At the node of 150,000 units roll-off, Beijing Off-road launched the BJ30 Traveler Highlight Edition. This new version is not a simple configuration upgrade, but a targeted reinforcement in three directions: appearance, performance, and experience, under the original 'Super Off-road, Super Large, Super Economical' framework.

In terms of appearance, the Highlight Edition continues the classic box-style shape, adding a full set of electric-style trendy modification kits and exclusive Star Ring Rims, front and rear bumpers adopt the same color sports design. In terms of interior, a new orange color scheme and metal texture trim panels are introduced. These changes are not radical, but for a model facing the mass market, the appropriate sense of refinement often moves the heart more than exaggerated design.

Performance upgrades are more substantial. The Highlight Edition replaced a high-performance, long-life dedicated AGM battery, the cycle life reaching 3 times that of ordinary batteries; equipped with turbocharging technology same as Porsche, the whole vehicle charging efficiency increased to 99%; the rear motor power increased from 55 kW to 70 kW. This means that in scenarios such as ramp merging, intersection starting, emergency evasion, the vehicle's response will be more timely.
Improvements in the experience level are reflected in details. The BJ30 Traveler Highlight Edition is equipped with seat heating, ventilation, steering wheel heating and other functions; the system can sense raindrops and automatically close the car windows; 64-color ambient light can move with the music rhythm. These functions, taken out individually, are not earth-shaking innovations, but when gathered together, they indeed make daily car use more comfortable.
150,000 Kilometers: A Ticket of Trust
In this press conference, there was a link that attracted special attention: Beijing Off-road joined hands with CCTV Finance to conduct a live dismantling broadcast of a BJ30 Traveler that had driven 150,000 kilometers.

150,000 kilometers is approximately equivalent to nearly ten years of usage mileage for an ordinary family. The dismantling result is: engine turbine is clean, carbon buildup is very little, power output is still abundant; transmission case is intact, no oil leakage, internal gears are not worn or pitted; battery pack has no bulging, liquid leakage or internal degradation and decay situation; subframe and suspension arms have no rust or oil seepage leakage problems, the flatness and regularity of the entire chassis is very small difference from new cars.
The significance of this live broadcast is not to prove how 'god-like' the BJ30 Traveler is, but to respond to a question that consumers are generally concerned about: Can the quality of an affordable priced car be maintained after long-term use? The answer is already written very clearly on this 150,000-kilometer car.

At the same time, the CCTV Finance camera also went deep into the BAIC Zhuzhou Super Factory. In the welding workshop, hundreds of robots achieved 100% automated operation, glue application error does not exceed the diameter of a human hair; in the stamping workshop, a 5000+ ton giant stamping equipment pressed out the car body plates at one time; in the painting workshop, dozens of robots performed fully automatic painting, using environmentally friendly water-based paint, harmful pungent volatile substances reduced by more than 60%. Every process has a quality control inspection checkpoint to ensure that every vehicle rolling off the line meets quality standards.
These factory-end details explain why the BJ30 Traveler, after experiencing the test of 150,000 kilometers, can still maintain a good state. High quality is not shouted out, but managed out of every manufacturing link.
Affordable is not downgrading, another kind of choice

Beijing Off-road is walking further and more steadily on the road of 'Affordable Off-roading'. The BJ30 Traveler's 150,000-unit performance report, and the launch of the Highlight Edition, are all conveying the same signal: Affordable does not mean cheap, low price does not mean low quality.
In this price segment, consumers do not need piled parameters and trickery functions, but solid reliability, economy and practicality. BJ30 Traveler just happens to meet these needs, and proved itself in the 150,000-unit market verification.

For those users with limited budget but yearning to have a car that can take family to the wild, BJ30 Traveler provides a highly convincing option. It does not require you to pay for brand premium, nor does it require you to make a painful choice between quality and price.
This is probably the most essential meaning of 'Affordable Off-roading': allowing more people to embrace a broader lifestyle with a lower threshold.

In early June, the 2026 China Ring Tower International Rally concluded. The 212 Off-road Vehicle team, which competed as a manufacturer team for the first time, completed the full 7,500 km course using T01 production vehicles close to factory state — the only brand in the T2.1 production group manufacturer teams to achieve 100% completion, winning two first places and one second place during stages SS10–SS13, and finally securing the runner-up spot among manufacturer teams in the group.

The participating vehicles were basically the powertrain of the commercially available T01: 2.0T engine (185kW/410N·m) + ZF 8AT + BorgWarner part-time 4WD, with torque amplified 2.64 times in 4L mode. The body-on-frame structure and front/rear solid axles (five-link) are the foundation that allows it to dare to run the Ring Tower — this structure sacrifices highway comfort, but in Gobi potholes and cross-axle sections, it has strong torsional rigidity, and the body does not easily deform.
Completing the race without major mechanical failures in a continuous 17-day high-load, high-temperature, and dusty environment proves at least that the basic reliability of this powertrain and chassis withstood tests much harsher than daily use, and not just marketing speak.

212 announced Ring Tower modification kits (chassis armor, anti-skid wheels, off-road tires, etc.) launching soon on the official mall, and launched 2027 Ring Tower user driver recruitment, partnering with Han Wei to establish a champion off-road training academy — attempting to integrate event resources with ordinary users, rather than just stopping at the brand exposure level.

Dakar, Malaysia Sabah Rainforest Race, and Alxa T3 have also been included in the plan. Whether "promoting R&D through racing" can feed back into production vehicle quality improvement is the next chapter that 212 truly needs to prove.
In one sentence summary: If you explicitly want a body-on-frame hard-core off-roader and can actually drive on unpaved roads a few times a year, the T01 is currently one of the few serious options in the 150,000 RMB range adhering to front and rear solid axles.

On June 6, the 212 Off-Road Huan Ta Rally closing ceremony was held in Qingdao. Han Qiaosheng, driver Han Wei, racing drivers from manufacturer and user teams, and event logistics staff gathered on site to review the full schedule of the 2026 China International Huan Ta Rally and share their experiences and gains from the 7,500-kilometer extreme off-road competition.

The 2026 Huan Ta Rally schedule was arduous, crossing Gobi desert, sand dunes, and gravel sections throughout. High temperatures, large potholes, and long-distance uninhabited area road conditions posed a severe test on vehicle stability and driver skills.

The rules for this year's T2.1 Production Group race limit participating vehicles to use original factory production chassis and powertrains, allowing only upgrades to safety accessories. In the 7,500-kilometer total distance, the 212 team competed steadily with the 2.0T original factory production T01 model, consecutively winning two first places and one second place in the key stages from SS10 to SS13 in the latter half of the event. Finally, they became the only brand in the T2.1 Production Group manufacturer teams where all members successfully finished, securing the second place for the manufacturer team in the category.

The participating vehicle T01 this time had no heavy rally modifications. It is equipped with the same powertrain as the Huan Ta - a 2.0T engine and a ZF 8AT gearbox. Tested throughout the event, it demonstrated strong low-end torque output, comparable to large-displacement models when climbing Gobi slopes and towing heavy loads. Paired with the BorgWarner heavy-duty transfer case, high and low-speed switching is swift. In 4L mode, torque can be amplified 2.64 times, achieving torque distribution as needed, ensuring stable power output for long-distance crossing with low failure rates.

In terms of body structure, the T01 adopts a body-on-frame paired with solid front and rear axles. The body remains undeformed when driving on bumpy off-road surfaces and large potholes; it reaches maximum torsional rigidity when reloading and crossing. The chassis underwent specialized optimization and tuning based on Huan Ta extreme road conditions, ready to adapt to various complex road conditions straight from the factory. Additionally, the entire vehicle body uses galvanized steel plates, undeterred by Gobi gravel scratches, and is not prone to rust. Furthermore, the T01 reinforced the top load-bearing capacity of the passenger cabin, with performance increased by 16%. Combined with the cage-style passenger cabin design, 540° panoramic image, dashcam, and emergency call rescue functions, it provides comprehensive protection for passenger safety.

At the celebration site, drivers and technical teams exchanged views on actual test performance regarding power systems, chassis structures, and body protection. Combined with combat scenarios such as Gobi slope climbing, heavy-load towing, and high-intensity bouncing, they summarized the pros and cons of the vehicle in long-distance off-roading.

Based on the actual test data accumulated from this Huan Ta event, 212 plans to launch original factory modification kits for off-road enthusiasts. Related products will go online through official channels later, helping ordinary car owners optimize vehicle off-road capability. At the event site, the brand announced subsequent off-road event layouts overseas and domestically. The Dakar Rally, Malaysia Sabah Rainforest Rally, Alxa T3 Challenge, and 2027 Huan Ta Rally are all included in the participation plan, adhering to the principle of using event testing to feed back into vehicle technology optimization.

Furthermore, 212 officially launched the 2027 Huan Ta Amateur Driver Recruitment Project. It will jointly build a professional off-road training academy with Han Wei, providing systematic driving training for ordinary off-road enthusiasts, connecting the pathway from zero-basic driving practice to participating in the Huan Ta race course. The 212 Brand will continue to dig deep into the mass off-road ecosystem, aiming to promote the popularization of off-road culture domestically, lower the threshold for ordinary people to participate in professional off-road events, and give amateur off-road enthusiasts opportunities to step onto national-level rally tracks.

June 6, the 212 Off-road Vehicle Ring Tower Finale Celebration was held in Qingdao. In the just concluded 2026 China Ring Tower International Rally, the 212 Off-road Vehicle Team competed with production vehicles in nearly stock condition. In the 7500 km extreme journey, they completed the cross-level challenge of "2.0T vs 3.0T", winning "two wins and one second place" consecutively in stages SS10-SS13. Finally, they became the only brand with a 100% completion rate in the T2.1 Production Group manufacturer team, and also won the runner-up position in the manufacturer team of this category.

The T01 vehicle participating in this event had no heavy racing modifications. It is equipped with the same powertrain as the Ring Tower rally - a 2.0T engine and ZF 8AT transmission. After undergoing inspection throughout the race, it showed strong low-end torque, comparable to large-displacement vehicles when climbing Gobi slopes or towing fully loaded; combined with a BorgWarner large transfer case, high and low speed shifting is rapid. In 4L mode, torque can be amplified 2.64 times, achieving torque distribution as needed, ensuring stable power output during long-distance travel and reducing the risk of failure.
Regarding body structure, the T01 adopts a body-on-frame design with front and rear solid axles, ensuring the body does not deform when driving on off-road bumps and potholes, providing maximum torsional rigidity when crossing under heavy loads; the chassis is specially optimized and tuned based on Ring Tower extreme road conditions, ready to adapt to various complex road conditions directly from the factory. Moreover, the entire car body uses galvanized sheets, immune to Gobi gravel scratches and resistant to rust. In addition, the T01 strengthened the roof load capacity of the passenger compartment by 16%. Combined with the cage-style passenger compartment design, 540° panoramic vision, dash cam, and emergency call/rescue functions, it provides all-around protection for passenger safety.

In order for more users to personally experience the charm of the Ring Tower rally, 212 announced that the Ring Tower modification kit will soon arrive on the official store. The kit will cover chassis armor, anti-drop wheels, off-road tires, and recovery rescue equipment, etc.

Regarding future race plans, 212 also stated that a series of top domestic and international races including the Silk Way Rally, Malaysia Sabah International Rainforest Rally, Alxa T3 Challenge, and 2027 Ring Tower Rally are all in planning. 212 will continue to promote R&D through racing. At the same time, 212 officially launched the 2027 Ring Tower user driver recruitment plan and will partner with Han Wei to establish the Champion Off-road Training Academy, providing users with systematic pre-race guidance and racing opportunities. Through racing to refine products and relying on training to empower users, 212 is gradually realizing the vision of mass off-roading, making every 212 carry the Ring Tower Dream belonging to the user.
