August 26, Chery Fengyun T7 officially launched domestically. The new car is positioned as a compact pure electric SUV, offering three configurations. The official guide price is 97,900-118,900 Yuan, with a priority exchange price of 94,900-115,900 Yuan. Unlike the model of most vehicles selling domestically first and then making adaptive modifications for the overseas market, Fengyun T7 focuses on the Native Global Car concept. The overseas source model LepasL6 has already been launched in South Africa and Thailand, with plans to enter markets such as Indonesia, EU, Australia & New Zealand in the future. This launch belongs to returning to domestic sales after completing global verification.
In the current background where the iteration pace of the new energy industry is accelerating and many new car R&D cycles are compressed, Fengyun T7 conveys the development philosophy of Slow Craftsmanship Builds Good Cars to the outside. According to official disclosed information, the entire vehicle R&D cycle is 3 years. It promotes the project relying on Chery's 1+7+N global R&D system, conducted global regulation pre-research two years in advance, developed against 2026 E-NCAP safety standards, and is not simply modifying the domestic model after completion for the overseas market. 5,000+ global user surveys were completed in the project stage, covering 15 typical national vehicle usage scenarios. Adaptation adjustments were made for driving habits and road conditions of different regions, including right-hand drive version development, steering feel tuning, physical button retention, low reflection interior materials, etc., comprising over 80 localization detail optimizations. 81 durability test vehicles were invested in the entire vehicle, cumulatively completing 1.45 million km actual vehicle road verification. Test environments covered a temperature range of -40°C to 55°C, completing trials in seven extreme environments such as high temperature, extreme cold, high humidity, and high salinity. Special tests such as wading, salt mist, chassis impact, and brake durability were executed according to global market requirements. Overseas R&D, chassis, and styling engineers also participated in the launch event to showcase the global collaborative development background.

From the market feedback perspective, Fengyun T7 opened pre-sale on August 12. Official data shows 10,937 units of locked orders within 72 hours, and pre-sale orders broke 16,787 units within 9 days. During the Chengdu Auto Show, overseas influencers viewed the car on-site and placed orders; during this launch event, a delivery ceremony was held simultaneously, achieving delivery upon launch, with overseas users in China also becoming the first batch of owners. Meanwhile, the Associated Press released relevant reports on this model. The source model LepasL6 had previously appeared at the Milan Design Week, garnering attention from overseas media. Chery itself possesses the industry foundation of being the number one exporter of Chinese brand passenger cars for 23 consecutive years, with cumulative global users breaking 20 million, providing basic endorsement for the global positioning of this model.
On the product hardware level, Fengyun T7 is equipped with a 65.05kWh Rhino Battery across all systems. CLTC range is 600km, official actual measured range can reach over 667km. 30%-80% fast charging takes 20 minutes. Battery cycle life can reach 2,500 times, with a rated service life of 15 years. All trims are equipped with Dual-source Wide Temperature Range Heat Pump + High Voltage PTC as standard. It is advertised that range can increase by 30% in -10°C environments, adapting to winter use in the north. It is equipped with 12-in-1 Kunpeng Super Electric Drive. Peak power is 178kW, maximum torque is 275N・m, maximum vehicle speed is 180km/h. AGS Intelligent Grille is also standard across all systems, used to optimize the vehicle's air resistance performance, with a vehicle drag coefficient of 0.286Cd.

Body dimensions are 4570×1852×1694mm, wheelbase is 2700mm, interior space efficiency is 84%, and the rear floor is purely flat. Rear seats support 40/60 split folding. After expansion, it can form a 1955mm×1310mm purely flat space. Trunk volume is 450L as standard, with a maximum expanded volume of 1550L. It includes internal compartment storage and sunken storage areas. Seats use a 9-layer Composite Cloud-feel Structure. High-end versions provide heating and ventilation functions. The cabin offers Warm Brown Black and Polar Night Obsidian two interior color schemes. There are six exterior paint options available: Crimson Flame Orange, Mountain Smoke Purple, Cloud Pink Beige, Flowing Light Silver, Bamboo Green Grey, and Ink Stone Black. Among them, Crimson Flame Orange uses multi-layer luxury car paint technology.
Intelligence is the key configuration for this car, equipped with a 4nm process 8775 Cabin-Driving Integrated Chip. NPU computing power is 72TOPS. The cockpit is a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, supporting mainstream mobile phone connectivity like CarPlay, HiCar, CarLink. Lingshi Smart Cockpit 2.0 integrates Doubao Large Model, providing multiple voice personas. At the same time, it includes scenarios like Nap, Camping, Baby, etc. Some scenarios require subsequent OTA upgrade to unlock. High-end versions are equipped with Falcon 500 Intelligent Driving System. The whole vehicle is equipped with 3 millimeter-wave radars, 7 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, totaling 22 sensors. It supports Highway Pilot Assist, 300+ Scene Automatic Parking, 100-meter Trail Reversing, Multi-floor Memory Parking, and other functions. Intelligent driving hardware and functions are only provided in high-end versions; entry-level versions do not have advanced assisted driving capabilities.

Placed in the 100,000-level Pure Electric SUV segment, Fengyun T7 uses the Native Global Car label as a selling point. All systems unify 600km range, forming differentiation in a market environment where most models in the same price range have range grading by trim level. At the same time, it downgrades configurations from previously higher price ranges, such as Cabin-Driving Integrated Chips, Multiple Airbags, Wide Temperature Range Heat Pump, and Advanced Parking Assist, to this price segment. However, it needs to be viewed objectively. The vehicle is designed against the 2026 E-NCAP target and has not yet obtained formal certification results; overseas market performance still needs to be observed after subsequent launch; full intelligent driving hardware is only given to high-end trims, and entry-level model intelligent auxiliary configurations are relatively basic.
Overall, Fengyun T7 hopes to rely on global development standards and unified long-range configurations to compete for household pure electric SUV market share. Subsequent market reputation, actual range performance, and intelligent driving implementation completion will become the key factors for whether this car can stand firmly in the market.
