On August 26, Chery Fengyun T7 was officially launched. The new car is positioned as a compact pure electric SUV, with 3 trim levels available. The official guide price range is 97,900‑118,900 RMB, and the trade-in advance price is 94,900‑115,900 RMB. The battery, range, and power hardware are consistent across the three models, with configuration differences mainly in comfort equipment and intelligent driving. As a native global model for Chery, its overseas homologous model Lepas L6 has already been launched in the South Africa and Thailand markets. Below, we combine information from the press conference to review the actual hardware, space, safety, and intelligent aspects of this car.

R&D and Verification: Testing for Global Markets
Relying on Chery's global R&D system, the Fengyun T7 referred to regulatory standards in more than 210 countries and regions during the development phase. The whole vehicle cumulative test mileage exceeded 6 million km, with durability special tests of 1.45 million km. Tests covered a temperature difference environment of -40°C~55°C, simulating hundreds of global road conditions, including unpaved roads, highway curves, bumpy roads, etc., covering the vast majority of global road conditions.
This verification standard is also adapted for overseas markets. The corresponding overseas version has been launched, and it also participated in Milan Design Week. The domestic version directly adopts this verification system, landing global strict test results onto the home version.

Powertrain and Range: Unified 600km CLTC Range for the Entire Series
A special point of this car is that all three versions are equipped with a 65.05kWh Rhinoceros LFP battery, with a CLTC range of 600km. There is no high/low range distinction, which is commonly known as range equality.
- The motor is a 12-in-1 Kunpeng Ultimate Electric Drive, with a maximum power of 178kW, peak torque of 275N·m, and overall efficiency of 90.8%
- Fast charging from 30%-80% SOC takes about 20 minutes; battery cycle life is 2500 times, with a designed lifespan of 15 years
- Standard equipment includes heat pump air conditioning + high-voltage PTC heating, matched with AGS active grille and 14 drag optimization items, with a drag coefficient of 0.286Cd; official data shows that in a -10°C low temperature environment, the range can increase by 30%, which is friendly to users in the north
- Official media actual test range reached 681.6km, exceeding the CLTC rated value, representing the performance that exceeds the rating.
The power orientation leans towards home use, with sufficient output, focusing on energy consumption control and range stability, suitable for city commuting and medium-to-long distance travel. It also supports 6.6kW external discharge, usable for camping scenarios.

Body Dimensions and Interior Space
Body dimensions: 4570×1852×1694 mm, wheelbase 2700mm, belonging to the standard compact SUV wheelbase level.
The interior official gives a space efficiency rate of 84%, rear legroom of 911mm, and the floor is pure flat. The trunk conventional volume is 450L, with an attached 99L sunken storage compartment; after the rear seats are folded down in a 4/6 ratio, the max expanded volume is 1550L, which can form a pure flat loading space. The whole car has a total of 32 storage points. Seats use 9-layer cloud sensation filling, providing two interior color schemes: Warm Black-Brown, Polar Night Obsidian.
The appearance is named Oriental Wind Riding Aesthetics, featuring Wind Blade Headlights and Full-width Taillights, offering 6 car paint colors. Among them, Flame Orange uses multi-layer luxury car grade spray process, while the rest are ordinary paint. The overall exterior design leans towards the smooth orientation of home SUVs.

Body and Battery Safety
For the body structure, high-strength steel accounts for 80%, and hot-formed steel accounts for 18.84%. Structurally, it is equipped with a double frame subframe + Pack anti-collision beam, Shotgun energy absorption structure. The whole car is standard with 9 airbags. Passive safety hardware is at a feature-rich level in the same price range.
For battery protection, it adopts a 31-layer protection structure, IP68 waterproof. The official test standards are higher than national standard requirements; it has completed multiple destructive tests such as salt spray, fire, and crushing, with a side anti-crushing capability of 200kN. The chassis adopts front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension, with an axle load ratio of 50.8:49.2, equipped with a wire-braking system, and the chassis was tuned by an overseas team.

Smart Cockpit and Intelligent Driving
The Fengyun T7 is equipped with Snapdragon 8775, a 4nm process cockpit-driving integrated chip, with NPU computing power of 72 TOPS. The cockpit screen is a 15.6-inch 2.5K anti-glare large screen, brightness 1000 nits, supporting multiple mobile phone interconnection methods such as CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink. The car machine is equipped with Lingxi Smart Cockpit 2.0, built-in Doubao Large Model Voice, and includes 6 pre-set scenario modes such as Napping, Baby Mode, and Sentry Mode.
Intelligent driving hardware is the Falcon 500 System, with 22 sensors (3 mmWave radars + 7 cameras + 12 ultrasonic radars). Functions include Highway Pilot Assist, 100m Track Reverse, and 300+ Scenario Auto Parking. Intelligent driving functions are not standard across the full series; only the High-spec Smart Enjoy Edition fully unlocks the full set of capabilities.

Market Positioning Summary
In the 100,000-level pure electric SUV market, the Fengyun T7's selling points are unified range for the entire series, full set of safety hardware, and global verification standards. Comparing with same-price competitors, many models create version differences through battery size, while it offers a 65kWh battery and 600km range across the series, which is a relatively obvious difference point.
Of course, it is also seen that complete intelligent driving functions are concentrated in the top-spec version. If you want Highway NOA, the budget must go up to the Smart Enjoy Edition at the trade-in price of 115,900 RMB. Mid and low specs focus more on cockpit experience, lacking high-level intelligent driving. The new car launch also has 9 car purchase benefits, including trade-in, finance, lifetime basic maintenance, etc. If you have a purchase intention, you can understand it in combination with local store policies.
