
The Proton eMas 7 PHEV may be new to the market, having launched in early February, but that has not stopped Proton’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model to climb up the sales charts.

To-date, the Proton eMas 7 PHEV has received 4,699 registrations, thus solidifying its spot as Malaysia’s no.1 EV model. This figure is as of 30 June 2026, which means that a month later, the figure has almost certainly exceeded the 4,699-unit mark.

At the same time, with these many registrations, the eMas 7 PHEV now claims a 47% share of the PHEV market.
As a brief recap, local assembly (CKD) work of the Proton eMas 7 PHEV just commenced. It remains to be seen how much the CKD eMas 7 PHEV will be priced at, but one thing’s for certain – the Premium and Premium Plus variants now add a pair of massage seats up front, improving the C-segment SUV’s comfort levels.
