2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro launched in Malaysia: First Neue Klasse EV SUV here, priced from RM 378,800*

BMW Malaysia has just launched the new 2026 BMW iX3 (NA5) in the country. BMW’s Neue Klasse (New Class) that will be bringing BMW toe-to-toe with the current crop of EVs.

The NA5 iX3 made its global debut in September 2025, promising up to 805 km WLTP range, 400 kW DC fast charging and a large 108.7 kWh NMC battery pack.

Overview

At launch, BMW Malaysia is offering a sole iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro variant. Like the Indonesian-spec model that debuted there last week, our Malaysian-spec iX3 gets a dual-motor, electric all-wheel drive (AWD) layout.

Priced from RM 378,800* (on-the-road, without insurance), the iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro is fully imported (CBU) from Hungary.

With the BSRI option ticked, the price of the 2026 BMW iX3 in Malaysia is RM 399,800.

Exterior

The NA5 BMW iX3 also introduces BMW's latest exterior design language that will underpin future Neue Klasse models.

Key styling highlights include a vertically oriented illuminated kidney grille with BMW Iconic Glow, flush-fitting door handles, sculpted bodywork and staggered 22-inch Y-Spoke Style 1054 M alloy wheels paired with red M Sport brakes.

Colour options include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, M Brooklyn Grey, Ocean Wave Blue, Polarised Grey, and Space Silver.

Interior

Inside, the iX3 introduces BMW's next-generation Panoramic iDrive interface.

Replacing the conventional instrument cluster is a 43.3-inch BMW Panoramic Vision display projected across the entire width of the windscreen. This is complemented by a new 3D Head-Up Display and a 17.9-inch central touchscreen running the latest BMW Operating System X.

A redesigned BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant offers expanded AI-powered voice controls and personalised routines, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard. Navigation instructions can also be displayed directly on both the panoramic display and the head-up display.

The cabin features M Sport seats with heating, electric adjustment, memory and seven-programme massage functions.

Powertrain

Powering the iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro is BMW's sixth-generation eDrive electric drivetrain built around an 800-volt electrical architecture.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to combine strong performance with a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 805 km.

Energy is supplied by a 108.7-kWh (usable) battery pack featuring cylindrical cells in a cell-to-pack design, while the battery housing forms part of the vehicle's structure to lower its centre of gravity and improve chassis rigidity.

Thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, the iX3 supports DC fast charging at up to 400 kW, allowing up to 372 km of driving range to be added in just 10 minutes. The system remains compatible with existing 400V charging infrastructure.

BMW also claims the iX3 is its most efficient electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) to date, with energy consumption rated between 15.1 and 17.9 kWh/100 km and a drag coefficient of 0.24.

Making its production debut is BMW's new Heart of Joy control unit, which integrates powertrain, braking and chassis control into a single high-speed computing platform.

BMW says the system responds up to 10 times faster than conventional vehicle control systems, improving steering precision, stability and overall driving dynamics.

The regenerative braking system now handles around 98% of braking events, allowing the vehicle to come to a complete stop using regeneration alone in most situations, resulting in smoother and quieter driving.
