Porsche has unveiled the new Mission S concept, built on a newly developed mid-engine supercar platform. The concept is a key part of the brand's "Sportwagenschmiede 35" revival programme, offering a glimpse of what could become a new flagship supercar.

The Porsche Mission S combines familiar design cues with a more futuristic look. Up front, it features Porsche's signature headlight design, large air intakes and two prominent vents on the bonnet.

There are clear influences from the legendary Porsche 911 GT1 race car, particularly in the low-slung proportions and aggressive bodywork.
The Mission S is also said to preview a new design direction for Porsche, potentially influencing a future flagship supercar positioned above the 911.

From the side, the Mission S has the distinctive proportions of a mid-engine supercar, with a particularly low stance that gives it a purposeful, track-focused appearance.

At the rear, a streamlined spoiler is integrated into the bodywork, while a large diffuser and twin exhaust outlets complete the design.

Inside, the Mission S takes inspiration from classic Porsche models such as the 356 and 550 Spyder, while retaining the brand's signature digital instrument cluster.

One of the more unusual features is the absence of a conventional central infotainment touchscreen. Instead, Porsche has fitted a retractable MagSafe magnetic phone mount.

The cabin also features plenty of physical buttons, racing bucket seats, racing harnesses and carbon-fibre paddle shifters, keeping the focus firmly on driving.

Porsche has yet to reveal any official powertrain specifications for the Mission S.
However, reports suggest that the company is developing a new large-displacement flat-eight engine, potentially giving its future flagship supercar the performance to match its ambitious design.
