Porsche Mission S concept teased: New mid-engine supercar to debut on 15 October

Porsche has released teaser images and a video of its new Mission S concept, which is set to make its global debut on 15 October. The company says the car reflects its passion for sports cars and will be the centrepiece of its newly announced revival strategy.

The teaser footage gives a few glimpses of the car's sleek bodywork, centre-lock wheels and the familiar Porsche crest.

Porsche has so far shown only a few details, including the LED headlights and tail lights. The full design has yet to be revealed, but it is expected to take cues from the Mission X, the all-electric supercar unveiled in 2023.

According to Porsche, the Mission S previews "a potential mid-engined super sports car platform for the future". The company has yet to release technical details, although reports suggest the new model will sit above the 911 in Porsche's line-up.

Porsche's recently announced Sportwagenschmiede ’35 strategy marks a shift away from chasing sales volume towards making more from each car. The focus is on increasing the value of its products and improving overall profitability, rather than simply selling more vehicles.

A high-priced flagship supercar is one part of that plan. Porsche aims to move its line-up further upmarket, with a target of raising the average selling price of its high-end models by 20% while improving profit margins across the range.
