Horse Powertrain – a joint venture between Geely, Renault and Aramco – has introduced its new Horse H12 concept hybrid engine.

Developed with Repsol, the engine runs on 100% renewable petrol with a 17:1 compression ratio and 44.2% thermal efficiency. It features advanced EGR, turbocharging, ignition and a dedicated hybrid transmission.

Fuel consumption is under 3.3 L/100km (WLTP), 40% lower than the 2023 European average.

Horse Powertrain supplies engines to global brands including Proton.
Proton’s current BHE15 i-GT engine is also developed by Horse Powertrain, meaning the H12 hybrid could be used in future Proton models.
