We’re definitely inching closer to the local launch of the Hyundai Stargazer, as Hyundai Malaysia just previewed the top-spec Stargazer X variant.

For Malaysia, the company earlier mentioned that we will be getting three variants of the Hyundai Stargazer, all imported (CBU) from Indonesia.

Estimated prices are as follow:

  • Hyundai Stargazer Style: RM 99,000
  • Hyundai Stargazer Prime: RM 109,000
  • Hyundai Stargazer X: RM 121,000

All variants of the Malaysian-spec Hyundai Stargazer get a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol engine that does 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, mated to Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

But powertrain aside, we now have a good look at the top-spec Stargazer X. That said, this preview unit is not representative of our Malaysian-spec car as this is an Indonesian-spec car.

How to differentiate the Stargazer X from the rest?

The biggest hint is the design – the Stargazer X gets full body cladding that covers the front, side, and rear. But if that’s not enough, the Stargazer X also gets functional roof rails (which can hold up to 100 kg) and black-finished alloy wheels, measuring 17 inches. It also gets a variant-specific set of front and rear bumpers.

And the eye-catching Gravity Gold Matte you see here? That’s a Stargazer X-exclusive colour too.

The changes continue inside – the Stargazer X offers second-row captain seats, together with a dedicated passenger table integrated into the left-hand-side seat back.

Upper variants, including the Prime and X, offer a 10.25-inch digital driver display paired to a 10.25-inch infotainment display – the latter pumping audio through a six-speaker sound system.

It’s well-equipped in the safety department too – upper variants receive smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision avoidance assist, lane following and keeping assist, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, high beam assist, driver attention alert with leading vehicle departure alert, and a safe exit warning system.

Airbag count is six – par for the course.

With an estimated price of RM 121,000 for the Stargazer X, could this be your next family mover? Watch for the launch, which is slated to happen later this year.
