2026 Volvo EX30 Cross Country launched in Malaysia: Sole Twin Performance AWD variant, RM 218,888

Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the new 2026 Volvo EX30 Cross Country. In-line with Volvo’s history of Cross Country models, the EX30 Cross Country adds some rugged styling bits to differentiate itself from the regular EX30.

Malaysia is the latest market in the ASEAN region to receive the model, following its earlier introduction in Thailand.

Overview

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country is the latest Volvo model to don the Cross Country name, with the Cross Country name spanning back to September 1997 with the first gen Volvo V70.

For the Malaysian market, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country is priced at RM 218,888. Be quick, as the first 100 customers will benefit from:

The model is locally-assembled (CKD) at Volvo's plant in Shah Alam, same as the regular EX30. 

VCM is also keen to point out that prices of the EX30 Ultra has been reduced to RM 198,888. 

Exterior

The EX30 Cross Country is easily recognisable by its blacked-out exterior panels at the front and rear, along with front and rear skid plates, wheelarch extensions and mudguards.

Look closely and you’ll notice that the front black panel actually features a design inspired by the topography of Sweden’s Kebnekaise mountain range, complete with coordinates referencing the location.

This model also receives Cross Country-specific 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in slightly higher-profile tyres, as well as suspension that has also been raised. Combined, these increase the ground clearance by 19 mm over the standard EX30.

Colour options include Cloud Blue, Crystal White, Onyx Black, and Vapour Grey. 

Interior

Inside, the 2026 Volvo EX30 Cross Country largely retains the cabin layout of the standard model, including the portrait-oriented 12.3-inch central touchscreen that handles infotainment and key driving information.

The Cross Country adds rubber floor mats and a rubber-covered boot floor, making it easier to clean after outdoor activities.

The rest of the cabin continues to follow the minimalist Scandinavian design of the regular EX30, with Volvo’s focus on simple controls, clean surfaces and efficient use of space.

Powertrain

Similar to the regular EX30, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 428 PS and 534 Nm, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.7 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h – in-line with Volvo’s safety-first concept.

However, due to the additional bodywork, taller suspension and larger tyres, its claimed WLTP range has dropped to 437 km (the RWD EX30 offers 475 km WLTP). The battery remains the same at 69 kWh, which can DC fast charge from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes.
