GWM Malaysia has renewed its partnership with Malayan Xpedition for 2026, via a Memorandum of Understanding signed at PARC Subang on 19-August 2026, building on the two parties' first collaboration last year.
The multi-day overland adventure gives GWM Tank 300 and Tank 500 owners the chance to test their vehicles in real off-road conditions, alongside themes of exploration, teamwork and responsible driving.

"At GWM Malaysia, we believe ownership should go beyond receiving the keys to a vehicle. We want to give our customers meaningful opportunities to experience, enjoy and build greater confidence in their vehicles," said Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia. "Malayan Xpedition gives us the right platform to bring this belief to life. Instead of simply telling owners what their vehicles can do, we give them the opportunity to experience those capabilities for themselves," he added.
Under the renewed partnership, GWM Malaysia will sponsor Malayan Xpedition 2026 and subsidise participation fees for eligible Tank 300 and Tank 500 owners, making the expedition more accessible to the ownership community.
The Tank 300 HEV pairs off-road capability with hybrid technology and everyday usability, while the Tank 500 HEV offers more space, refinement and comfort alongside stronger performance.

Separately, two GWM Tank 300 Diesel race vehicles completed the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2026 in Thailand, covering more than 2,000km across all six legs of one of the region's toughest off-road endurance events.
Car No. 114, driven by Olan Sornsirirat with navigator Somkiat Noychat, finished 12th overall and fourth in the T2A-D class. Car No. 128, driven by Thovald Thovaldsen with navigator Chapphawit Junlasantirat, finished 15th overall and sixth in the T2A-D class.
The vehicles were fielded by the GWM Ek Group Racing Team in Thailand, based on the production Tank 300 Diesel and modified mainly to meet FIA safety standards and T2-class regulations.

"The GWM TANK models are built to deliver genuine capability where it matters most. Whether through our owners taking on challenging trails in Malaysia or completing the AXCR in Thailand, these experiences demonstrate the strength, durability and engineering behind the TANK brand. We are proud to bring the GWM TANK 300 and GWM TANK 500 to Malaysia, giving local drivers the confidence and capability to take on every journey," said Stan Li Hao, Managing Director, Commercial Operations of GWM Malaysia.
GWM Malaysia is also running a nationwide Merdeka and Hari Malaysia campaign from 1-August to 30-September 2026. Customers who book and register a new GWM vehicle during this period stand a chance to be among six winners of up to RM 1,000 each in toll cashback. Savings of up to RM 30,000 on selected models are available throughout August, along with five years of free service maintenance on every new GWM vehicle purchased. Terms and conditions apply.
