Malaysia Auto Xpo 2026 opens at MAEPS – modified cars, drifting, dyno challenge, diecast and more; tickets RM35

The inaugural Malaysia Auto Xpo (MAX) 2026 has officially opened at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), taking place over two days from November 7 to 8, 2026.

Organised by Element X Strategies, the team behind Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur from 2023 to 2025, the event brings together modified cars, motorsports, automotive businesses and lifestyle activities under one roof.

MAX 2026 combines three main events: the Malaysia Auto Xpo itself, the International Auto Modified (IAM) show and Tempatan Fest, a Malaysian cultural festival featuring local streetwear, vintage collectibles, visual arts, independent music and creative businesses.

The event is conceptualised and owned by Alaf Sentosa Sdn Bhd, with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia.

Modified cars, drifting, and activities

Among the main attractions are modified and customised vehicles from local and international tuners, alongside an auto styling competition and exclusive vehicle unveilings.

Visitors can also look forward to a dyno challenge aimed at finding Malaysia's most powerful car, with participating vehicles competing to record the highest horsepower output.

Other attractions include:

  • Drifting demonstrations and drift taxi rides
  • Sim racing competitions
  • Classic cars and car club gatherings
  • Diecast displays and collector activities
  • Vehicle auctions and automotive trading
  • Exclusive tuner and custom car unveilings
  • Automotive race queens fashion show
  • Miss Auto Culture Malaysia pageant
  • Batik-themed car wrapping
  • Live music performances and food stalls

Through its collaboration with IAM, MAX 2026 also brings an established international modified-car competition to the event. IAM has been held in Malaysia since 2011 and has expanded to cities across Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the United States.

Meanwhile, Tempatan Fest adds a broader lifestyle element with Malaysian fashion labels, vintage items, local artists and independent music.

9,000 km road trip from Kuala Lumpur to Japan announced

One of the more unusual announcements at MAX 2026 is an upcoming 9,000 km road trip from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo, covering approximately 35 days.

The journey will pass through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China and South Korea before reaching Japan, with the final destination being the headquarters of renowned Japanese tuning company Liberty Walk.

Leading the convoy will be a specially modified Toyota GR Supra fitted with a Liberty Walk bodykit, prepared by Element X Strategies.

The car will be driven by MAX 2026 ambassador Vera T., a motorsport lifestyle content creator and racing driver.

MAX 2026 tickets priced at RM35

MAX 2026 takes place at MAEPS, Serdang, on November 7 and 8, 2026.

Admission is priced at RM35 per person for a one-day pass, with tickets available for purchase at the venue. Children below six years old can enter free of charge.
