The all-new third-generation 2026 Mazda CX-5 has launched in Malaysia. The model first made its public debut at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (2026 KLIMS) back in June.
The third-generation Mazda CX-5 made its global debut back in July 2025 and has gradually found its way across different markets, with Malaysia being the latest market.

Codenamed KM, the third-gen Mazda CX-5 arrives in Malaysia in imported (CBU) form, right from Mazda’s Hiroshima plant. Local assembly (CKD) works will come in due time, in-line with other Mazda models.
The sole Mazda CX-5 2.5G High variant is priced at RM 171,510.40 (on-the-road, without insurance).

Up front, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 gets a pair of stacked LED headlights, encompassing dual J-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) surrounding the SUV’s projector LED headlights.

Towards the rear and the biggest change is the removal of the iconic Mazda oval with the Mazda script, with a pair of enlarged and elongated LED tail lights on each end.

A set of 19-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black complete the exterior, wrapped in 225/55R19 tyres all-round.
Colour options include Aero Gray, Jet Black, Machine Grey, Navy Blue, Rhodium White, and Mazda's signature Soul Red Crystal.

The cabin has also been overhauled – the old 8.0-inch infotainment display is no more, replaced by a 12.9-inch infotainment display. This display is accompanied by a 10.25-inch digital driver display.

While the previous-generation Mazda CX-5’s Mazda Connect infotainment was developed on Linux, the new-gen model gets a more modern Android Automotive OS, replete with built-in Google services like Google Maps, Google Play app store, and even Google Gemini AI Assistant.

This also marks the return of the Bose sound system on the CX-5 – a feature that was once available on the CBU, first-gen CX-5 2.5 back in 2014.

Other equipment include a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat with memory function, 6-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, sport

tan leather upholstery, 12.9-inch infotainment display running on Android Automotive OS, auto-dimming frameless rear-view mirror, and automatic dual-zone climate control with rear air vents.

Power for the 2026 Mazda CX-5 comes from a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that does 185 PS at 6,000 rpm and 257 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Sending power to the front wheels is Mazda’s six-speed SkyActiv-Drive torque converter automatic transmission.
Standard equipment on the 2026 Mazda CX-5 includes:
