Aston Martin DBX GT unveiled: 727 PS V8, 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds

Aston Martin has unveiled the new DBX GT, expanding its DBX SUV line-up with a model that pairs the performance of the DBX S with a greater focus on comfort and luxury.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine based on the unit used in the DBX S. The DBX GT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 310 km/h.

Exterior

The DBX GT gets a series of exterior changes, with new grille details, metal trim and wheel designs setting it apart from the DBX S.

While the DBX S has a more overtly sporty appearance, the DBX GT takes a subtler approach. Its emphasis is on fine detailing, premium materials and carefully chosen finishes rather than more aggressive styling.

The biggest change at the front is the new twin-blade grille. Its metal blades are available in bright or dark finishes and extend towards the separate side air intakes, where the daytime running lights are integrated into the design.

Together with the larger-looking front bumper, the grille gives the front end a wider, more substantial appearance.

Along the sides, the DBX GT gets two-piece metal sill trims inspired by traditional watchmaking. Polished and satin finishes sit alongside each other, creating a contrast in texture and giving the side profile more definition.

The lower front bumper, side sills and rear diffuser are all finished in body colour as standard, keeping the exterior design visually consistent.

Standard equipment includes new 22-inch forged wheels with a satin titanium diamond-turned finish and all-season tyres.

The setup is intended to balance ride comfort with low road noise, both useful qualities for everyday driving. A 23-inch wheel-and-tyre package is available for those who prefer larger wheels.

At the rear, four exhaust outlets replace the previous design. Arranged in two horizontal pairs, they emphasise the width of the lower rear end and give it a sportier look.

The exhaust outlets have polished outer surfaces and satin-anodised inner sections, complementing the rear diffuser. Aston Martin describes the DBX GT as the most powerful SUV in the world using only an internal combustion engine.

A cabin focused on comfort

Inside, the DBX GT gets newly designed seats with exclusive embroidery and revised upholstery details.

Both rows of seats have been revised, with reshaped side bolsters and updated ergonomic contours. The cushions also gain an extra 10 mm layer of memory foam. The changes are intended to provide better support when cornering without sacrificing comfort on longer journeys.

At the rear, a revised seating layout retains the five-seat configuration but gives passengers two individually sculpted seats with extended headrests and improved lateral support. A panoramic glass roof is standard, allowing more natural light into the cabin.

The metal drive-mode dial and auxiliary control switches have an anodised finish. Interior themes are available in single-tone, two-tone and three-tone combinations, with different quilting patterns, perforated surfaces and exclusive embroidery to choose from.

Semi-aniline leather and deep-pile floor mats add to the cabin's high-end finish. Each front seat takes more than four and a half hours to finish by hand, using 691 metres of thread and featuring 3,297 precision perforations.

Aston Martin has also worked to reduce noise inside the cabin. Changes include a stiffer body structure, tighter cabin seals, sound-absorbing material in the door panels and wheel arches, and acoustic laminated glass for the rear side windows. These measures help keep road and wind noise out, particularly on longer drives and busy urban roads.

727 PS from a twin-turbo V8

The DBX GT uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 derived from the DBX S. The engine also benefits from turbocharging technology shared with Aston Martin's mid-engined Valhalla supercar. It produces 727 PS and 900 Nm of torque.

The figures put the DBX GT firmly in high-performance SUV territory: 0–100 km/h takes 3.3 seconds, while top speed is 310 km/h.

The braking system is carried over from the DBX S, with carbon-ceramic discs measuring 420 mm at the front and 390 mm at the rear.

Meanwhile, a more direct steering ratio is intended to sharpen turn-in and make the SUV feel more responsive. Its turning circle is 12.0 metres, which should also help when negotiating tight streets and parking spaces.

The suspension has been upgraded and retuned for the DBX GT, with the aim of absorbing bumps more comfortably during everyday driving while keeping body movements in check when pushed harder.
