Voyah is heading to Malaysia.
Dongfeng's local distributor, Volt Auto, has confirmed that the Voyah Dream 9 flagship MPV will launch in Q1 2027. Both BEV and PHEV variants will be offered, initially arriving as fully imported (CBU) units before transitioning to local assembly (CKD).

The Dream 9 has just opened for pre-orders in China, with official Malaysian specifications and pricing yet to be confirmed.
The prices and specifications detailed below are estimates based on Chinese-market data and the pricing landscape of Malaysia's luxury MPV segment. Official details will be confirmed by Volt Auto Malaysia closer to launch.
In Malaysia, the Dream 9's most direct rivals will be the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. With estimated pricing between RM250,000 and RM350,000, it undercuts the Vellfire's official starting price of RM448,000.

The BEV variant gets a dual-motor AWD setup with a 175 kW front motor and a 300 kW rear motor, generating a combined 475 kW (approx. 646 PS). Powered by a 120 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, it claims a CLTC range of 701 km (roughly 575 km on the WLTP cycle).
The PHEV variant pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with front and rear electric motors for a total system output of 555 kW (755 PS), juiced by a 65 kWh battery pack delivering up to 300 km (or 291 km) of WLTC pure electric range.
Both variants feature an 800V high-voltage architecture with 5C ultra-fast charging capability. On the PHEV, a 20% to 80% top-up takes just around 12 minutes. The EV variant takes marginally longer, requiring around 20 minutes for the same 20%–80% state of charge.
Placing a 120 kWh battery pack into an MPV is exceptionally rare in this segment.
An estimated WLTP range of around 575 km is more than enough for daily urban commutes and cross-state highway runs. With the 800V architecture enabling 20-minute DC fast charging, road trips remain thoroughly practical.

The EV's biggest selling point is ride refinement. Without any internal combustion engine kicking in, NVH levels and cabin serenity are inherently superior to the PHEV.
In a flagship luxury MPV, second- and third-row passengers are far more sensitive to cabin noise than the driver, and this is where the EV provides an effortless glide that no hybrid can match.

However, the EV’s catch is straightforward: charging access is essential. If you have a dedicated AC wallbox at home or the office, living with it will be seamless.
But if you are a frequent long-distance cruiser or travel through areas with sparse DC fast-charging networks, real-world highway driving will yield around 400 to 450 km per charge—meaning at least one quick charging stop between Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

With 755 PS on tap, power delivery in this family hauler is in supercar territory. Its 300 km WLTC pure electric range allows you to use it as an EV for daily commutes, while having the petrol engine as a fallback for interstate trips without the need for strict charging itinerary planning.

The PHEV's core strength is its versatile usability. Drive on pure electric power on weekdays, and switch to petrol-hybrid mode for weekend out-of-town trips. For one-car families, this level of all-round capability is unmatched.
In Malaysia's daily driving context, a 300 km EV range means most owners will only need to plug in once or twice a week.
The compromise, however, is a slight drop in outright cabin quietness. When the 1.5T engine engages under load, slight engine noise and vibration will inevitably filter into the cabin.
While Voyah has engineered extensive acoustic insulation, physics dictates that a hybrid can never be quite as whisper-quiet as a pure EV.

The Dream 9's chassis hardware is a major highlight. It rides on front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, complemented by triple-chamber air suspension with height adjustability and dual-valve dampers.
Crucially, rear-wheel steering with up to 10 degrees of steering angle makes this massive 5,325 mm MPV as nimble in tight U-turns and parking spots as a mid-size SUV.

Inside, the second row is fitted with VIP aviation-style captain seats with power swivel, lateral sliding, zero-gravity recline, and pneumatic massage functions. The seats can rotate 180 degrees to face the third row for a mobile lounge layout.
Other luxury amenities include a 13-litre dual-door smart hot/cold refrigerator (-6°C to 50°C) and a ceiling-mounted 21.4-inch rear entertainment display with wireless casting.
Both the second and third rows feature LC dimmable privacy glass, while 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/50 R20 tyres come standard.

In terms of advanced driver assistance, the Dream 9 runs on the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 suite powered by 37 perception sensors, including an 896-line primary roof LiDAR and three solid-state blind-spot LiDARs.
While marketed with Level 3 autonomous driving hardware in China, the exact ADAS feature set enabled for Malaysia will be confirmed at launch.

Go for the EV if:
You have an AC home wallbox, your daily commute is under 100 km, and you prioritise the ultimate whisper-quiet ride for your rear passengers. With its massive 120 kWh battery and ultra-fast charging, daily driving is virtually hassle-free.

Go for the PHEV if:
It is your household’s only car and must do it all—daily school runs, office commutes, and spontaneous cross-state holiday drives. You don't want the anxiety of planning charging stops or queuing for chargers at shopping malls.
With 755 PS and 300 km of pure EV range, you get zero-emissions urban motoring and zero-compromise long-distance convenience.
Both variants share identical chassis dynamics, interior luxury, and driver assistance suites. The choice comes down purely to your powertrain preference and charging lifestyle. The EV offers pure serenity and simplicity, whereas the PHEV delivers maximum versatility and peace of mind.
