Chery Unveils Multiple New Models at Chengdu Auto Show: Fengyun T7 Launching Soon, Arrizo 7 Returns

August 21, 2026, the Chengdu Auto Show officially opened. The Chery brand showcased 12 products, covering pure electric, hybrid, and fuel powertrain forms. Among them, the most attention-grabbing are the Fengyun T7, launching on August 26, and the Arrizo 7, returning after many years.

The Fengyun T7 is positioned as a pure electric compact SUV. Pre-sales have already started, with a price range of 109,900 to 129,900 yuan. The entire series is equipped with 65.05kWh LiFePO4 Rhino batteries, with CLTC range unified at 600km. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes approximately 20 minutes. The powertrain adopts a rear single-motor layout, with a maximum power of 178kW and peak torque of 275N·m.

Configuration gradient differences are mainly reflected in intelligent configurations. The top trim features the Qualcomm 8775 chip (4nm process, 72 TOPS computing power) and Falcon 500 driver assistance system, supporting highway NOA pilot and over 300 automatic parking scenarios. Middle and low trim cockpits use the 8155 chip; high-order intelligent driving functions are limited to the top trim, and LiDAR is not equipped.

As the brand's first "global car", Fengyun T7 is designed according to the 2026 version E-NCAP five-star safety standard. The body uses 80% high-strength steel and 18.84% hot-formed steel, with 9 airbags as standard. The homologous model has already launched in South Africa and Thailand. After launching domestically on August 26, it will undergo global synchronous sales. In the 100,000 to 150,000 yuan pure electric SUV market, the new car may compete with models like BYD Yuan PLUS, Deepal S05, AION AION Y, etc. The 600km range across the full series and the starting price of 109,900 yuan are its main differentiating features, but the wheelbase is at an average level among peers.

Arrizo 7, which was discontinued in 2017, makes its debut for the new generation at this auto show. The new car adopts a fastback coupe body shape, continuing the large-sized polygonal front grille design, and the rear is equipped with a full-width light group and diffuser decoration. According to official information, C-DM Super Energy Electric Hybrid and Kunpeng Fuel two power versions will be provided. The fuel version is expected to be equipped with a 1.5T engine, matched with CVT or dual-clutch transmission. Expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Pure electric mid-size coupe Fengyun A9 launched on July 25. This car is equipped with 70.11kWh Rhino battery, CLTC pure electric range 655km; equipped with 12-in-1 high-power electric drive system, peak power 175kW; cockpit uses 3nm process high-performance chip, middle trim and above equipped with 23-speaker sound system, high trim offers passenger seat zero-gravity seat option and Falcon driving assistance system (27 high-precision sensors, including 1 LiDAR).

The Fengyun A9L ULTRA four-wheel drive version displayed at the same time is equipped with Kunpeng Super Energy Electric Hybrid CDM 6.0, CLTC pure electric range 260km, system maximum power 470kW, 0-100km/h acceleration 4.9 seconds. The chassis adopts a front double wishbone plus rear high-level five-link structure, equipped with CDC electromagnetic suspension and road active preview system.

QQ3 Modern Edition, as the first official modified version of QQ3, adopts Neo Retro design concept, combining retro elements with two exclusive colors: British Green and Milk Coffee. QQ3 EV powertrain offers two motors of 58kW and 90kW, using rear-engine rear-drive layout, CLTC range comes in 310km and 420km versions. Cockpit equipped with Qualcomm 8155 chip and 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, supporting L2 level assisted driving and 540° panoramic image.

From the product line perspective, Fengyun T7 enters the 100,000 level pure electric SUV market with a 600km range standard across the full series and global verification system; Arrizo 7 covers family sedan users with dual power forms; Fengyun A9 and A9L form complementarity in pure electric and hybrid sedan fields respectively; QQ3 Modern Edition explores the boutique small car market segment with personalized design.

Chery's global R&D system and multi-energy parallel strategy provide wider market coverage capabilities. The Rhino battery safety verification standards and the global synchronous development mode of models constitute product endorsement. However, all models face fierce competition in their respective market segments. There are already multiple mature products from emerging brands and joint venture brands in the market. The brand premium capability of Fengyun and Arrizo series is still in the accumulation stage.
