August 26, Chery Fengyun T7 was officially launched, with an early trade-in price ranging from 94,900 RMB to 115,900 RMB. Three trims are available, with the entire series offering a CLTC range of 600 km. At the press conference, singer Wu Kequn appeared as the "Happiness Experience Officer" and held a dialogue with Chery Automobile Executive Vice President Li Xueyong around the topic of "Steady Happiness". The sentence "Slow work builds good cars, long wait" revealed the underlying stance of this car that distinguishes it from the industry's quick-provision logic.
In the current new energy market where "fast" has become the main theme, Fengyun T7 chose a reverse path of "overseas first, domestic later". Its overseas same-origin model Lepas L6 was launched first in South Africa and Thailand, landed in China and Indonesia in August, entered the EU in September, and will sequentially cover the UK, Malaysia, Australia, and other places in October. This practice of "running the whole globe before returning home" has the underlying logic: let the product complete verification and iteration in real overseas road conditions, then return to the domestic market for delivery to users.
According to Chery Automobile Executive Vice President Li Xueyong, "A true global car is not developed domestically and then modified for export." Fengyun T7 went through two years of planning and three years of R&D. The whole vehicle cumulative test mileage exceeded 6 million km, with durability special testing reaching 1.45 million km. 81 exclusive durability cars were put into use simultaneously running all over the world. R&D, verification, and global user co-creation are the three fields where "it cannot be fast". Southeast Asia rainy season, Middle East high temperatures, Northern Europe extreme cold, Mexican cobblestone roads, Brazilian gravel roads. These real scenarios are not simulated data in laboratories, but actual road surfaces crushed by wheels. The concept conveyed at the launch event is: "Fast when it should be fast, never cut corners when slow"—fast is response, slow is respect for safety.
This "global verification" redundancy is ultimately reflected in product power. The Fengyun T7 standard equipment includes a 65.05kWh Rhinoceros battery, CLTC range of 600 km, with actual tests reaching 681.6 km. 30% to 80% fast charging only takes 20 minutes. In this price segment, range equity is a choice—the entry-level model does not cut range, and the full series maintains unified configuration. In terms of safety, the body was developed according to the 2026 version E-NCAP five-star standard. It uses 80% high-strength steel and 18.84% hot-formed steel to create a nine-horizontal, five-vertical cage body. All series are standard with 9 airbags. The 4nm process 8775 cockpit-integrated chip, debuting in the same class, combined with a 15.6-inch 2.5K large screen and Falcon 500 intelligent driving system, is not common in the 100,000 RMB level market.
The "Steady Happiness" mentioned by Wu Kequn at the launch event resonates with the product logic of Fengyun T7. In this era of continuously compressed new car release cycles and escalating configuration competitions, the sense of security a car brings to users is not just range numbers and configuration lists, but the certainty that "this car stands the test of time". As Li Xueyong said, cars concern the safety of tens of millions of families and need to undergo tests of different road conditions, climates, and habits worldwide. What Fengyun T7 did is use the redundancy of global verification to hedge against the uncertainty of industry quick-provision.
When the market is dominated by the logic of "quick cars", the launch of Fengyun T7 provides a different perspective: In the second half of the new energy competition, perhaps it is not just about who runs faster, but who can find their own rhythm between fast and slow, and ultimately let users get a car that stands the test of time. The data showing pre-sale orders broke 16,787 units in 9 days indicates that this "slow work" is being seen by the market.
