Competition in the domestic new energy sector has entered a frenzied stage.

The pace of new car iterations has been repeatedly compressed, shortened from one generation every three years in the past to two years or eighteen months; some brands even achieve multiple updates a year. While the entire industry believes "only speed cannot be broken" in this general environment, Chery, at a new product launch event, told a story counter to industry trends.

The new Fengyun T7 officially debuts. The new car launches with three configurations. The official guide price range is 97,900-118,900 yuan. Exchange users can also enjoy a 3,000 yuan early exchange discount. Looking at the pricing alone, it is just another new contender in the 100,000 yuan level pure electric SUV track. But looking past the price layer, behind this car lies a car creation philosophy completely different from the industry mainstream.

The greatest uniqueness of the Fengyun T7 lies in the fact that it is not a special model created specifically for the local market, but a native global car defined from the source.

Its sibling model Lepas L6 has already completed launches and deliveries in the South African and Thai markets. According to the planning schedule, it landed in Indonesia in August, entered the EU market in September, and in October will successively cover multiple regions including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Israel, and Malaysia.

In other words, before officially meeting domestic consumers, this car has already gone through the full process test of launch, delivery, and real user usage overseas.

This product path of "overseas first, domestic later" is indeed rare in the 100,000 yuan level pure electric SUV market. The common logic of most car companies is to first deeply cultivate the domestic market. After the scale is validated, then make adaptive modifications to sell overseas. But from the beginning of the Fengyun T7 R&D project, laws and regulations of 210 countries and regions worldwide, as well as driving habits, were taken into account. The vehicle is developed forward according to the 2026 E-NCAP five-star safety standards.

Its R&D cycle lasts a full three years. Placed in the current industry environment pursuing rapid landing, a three-year R&D cycle can be considered a kind of "luxury".

The project relies on Chery's global "1+7+N" R&D system, mobilizing hundreds of designers distributed across ten global design centers to participate collaboratively. In the early stage of the project, the team visited 15 representative countries and completed deep research on 5,000 global users. The sibling model Lepas L6 debuted at Milan Design Week. The external evaluation was not a visual impact of "stunning", but rather "timeless". This timelessness is indeed the result settled after gathering aesthetic tastes from different regions around the world.

In today's automotive market, many products are obsessed with the visual impact of the first glance. But to achieve long-term timelessness, it instead tests the design skills more.

The appearance of the Fengyun T7 is not an individual inspiration output of a certain designer, but a co-creation result of large-scale global users. Over 5,000 ordinary users from different countries, their real car usage scenarios and aesthetic preferences, are all included in the assessment dimensions of the whole vehicle design. The final product has no radical exaggerated styling. The overall style is restrained and coordinated, pursuing a lasting sense of visual comfort.

Hundreds of designers work collaboratively. The goal is not to create an eye-catching blockbuster appearance, but to seek a broad aesthetic consensus. A car must simultaneously take into account the reserved aesthetics of European users, the practicality demands of Southeast Asian users, and the unique preferences of the Middle East region. The optimal solution is to return to the essence of design: good-looking, practical, and able to withstand the polishing of time.

In terms of safety, the Fengyun T7's body structure, battery protection, and full set of active safety systems are all developed against the 2026 E-NCAP five-star standard. Compared to most same-price products currently on the market, it directly crosses to the next generation of safety systems.

The whole vehicle environmental adaptability covers the extreme interval of -40°C to 55°C. The dual-source heating system needed for the Nordic winter environment, the 500mm wading ability for the tropical rainy season, are not optional configurations, but hard engineering indicators directly written into the basic product definition.

This redundant design in standards is difficult for consumers to perceive intuitively during short-term car use, but it directly determines the lower limit of vehicle reliability for long-term use.

Its whole vehicle verification system is substantial enough among same-level products. The project invested 81 exclusive durability test vehicles to carry out road tests simultaneously. The cumulative test mileage of the whole vehicle exceeded 6 million kilometers, among which the durability special actual test mileage was 1.45 million kilometers. Test footprints covered regions such as the EU, Australia-New Zealand, Middle East, South Africa, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, and more, facing more than 100 types of complex road conditions globally.

Brazil's high-frequency high-speed hump, Mexico's bumpy cobblestone road surface, Germany's high-speed large curvature bends, South Africa's soft unpaved dirt roads, Southeast Asia's continuous rainwater flooded sections, the Middle East's high-temperature and sun exposure environment all year round, all adopt real road actual tests, without relying on laboratory simulation data.

As the official said, all quality conclusions come from the inspection of real roads.

Before the official announcement in China, this test car had already appeared frequently all over the world. Crushing speed humps in Brazil, driving over Mexico's bumpy road surfaces, challenging Germany's high-speed bends, galloping on South Africa's wilderness dirt roads, holding up Southeast Asian rainy seasons and Middle Eastern heatwaves, and surviving the Nordic severe winters.

This global verification system received positive evaluations from the Associated Press. At the Chengdu Auto Show scene, the foreign exhibition team also showed strong interest in the Fengyun T7. Chery has maintained the first place in Chinese brand passenger car exports for 23 consecutive years. Global users have broken through 20 million, products sold to over 130 countries and regions. The globalized experience accumulated over the years is all fed back to the product power of Fengyun T7.

The starting price of 97,900 yuan is the most direct signal sent by Fengyun T7 to the market. But what is worth more attention than the price is the sediment behind the price: three years of complete R&D cycle, massive global real vehicle verification, forward-looking E-NCAP safety standards, actual tests of hundreds of extreme road conditions.

When the entire industry is chasing faster iterations, Chery gives another answer with Fengyun T7: A reliable good car aimed at the global market cannot be rushed and cannot be fast.

The 100,000 yuan level pure electric SUV market never lacks low-price products, but choices that "maintain affordability while ensuring reliability and durability" are still scarce. If a car can withstand the heavy tests of Brazil's bumpy roads, the Middle East's continuous high temperatures, and Germany's high-speed bends, then returning to the domestic market, facing ordinary family daily commuting scenarios, it will naturally not disappoint users.
