"A global car cannot be rushed!"

August 26, Chery Fengyun T7 officially launched, positioned as an all-electric SUV, guide price from 97,900 to 118,900 RMB, early trade-in price starts as low as 94,900 RMB.

For this price, the entire series comes with a 65.05kWh Rhino Battery, CLTC range 600km, media actual test reached 681.6km, 30-80% fast charging in 20 minutes. Compared to the same-class BYD Yuan Plus, entry-level 510km guide price 115,800 RMB; AION Y, 430km range guide price starts at 99,800 RMB. Fengyun T7 range exceeds by nearly 100km, and the starting price is even lower.

Li Xueyong stated, "A true global car is not developed domestically first and then modified for export, but targeting the global market from the first day of R&D." On August 10, Li Xueyong posted on social media specifically discussing the industry's status of "rush-made cars": "Cars are not fast-moving consumer goods, it concerns the safety of tens of millions of families, bearing the tests of global different road conditions, climates, and habits. There are some timelines we truly dare not shorten."

Fengyun T7 underwent 2 years of planning, 3 years of R&D, 5 years of refinement, benchmarking the 2026 version E-NCAP five-star standards, and completed real vehicle verification in 21 countries. Safety collisions meet regulations in multiple regions including Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Charging protocols, vehicle systems, etc., must be compatible with ecosystems and habits of different regions. The overseas sibling model Lepas L6 has already been launched in Thailand and South Africa, with a subsequent plan to sell to over 100 countries and regions.

In terms of hardware, T7 is equipped with Qualcomm 8775 chip, 9 airbags, 80% high-strength steel body, and heat pump air conditioning is directly standard across the series. High trims also feature Falcon 500 Intelligent Driving, supporting Highway Pilot and automatic parking for over 300 scenarios.

What drew the most attention were two guarantees, Chery promises: Compensate a new car for battery thermal runaway, compensation up to 5 million RMB for accidents caused by intelligent driving system issues.

For Chery, Fengyun T7 completes the Fengyun series pure electric SUV segment, and is also a key move in Chery New Energy's overseas expansion strategy. According to statistics, cumulative retail sales of the Fengyun series exceeded 50,000 units from January to July this year. T7 not only undertakes the task of volume sales domestically, but is also an important step for Chinese new energy vehicles to participate in global competition.

Presale orders exceeded 16,787 units in 9 days. Next, it depends on whether actual deliveries can live up to this momentum.
