BYD Sime Motors launches BYD Certified programme for pre-owned EVs, first outlet opens in Glenmarie

BYD Sime Motors has officially launched BYD Certified, the brand's certified pre-owned (CPO) programme in Malaysia, offering customers a factory-backed avenue to purchase used BYD electric vehicles with added peace of mind.

The launch also sees the opening of the first BYD Certified showroom in the Asia Pacific region, located at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie, underscoring Malaysia's growing importance in BYD's regional expansion plans.

As part of the programme, every BYD Certified vehicle undergoes a comprehensive 170-point inspection, complete with battery health verification, vehicle history checks and refurbishment using genuine BYD parts. Eligible vehicles must be less than four years old and have accumulated no more than 100,000 km, while also being free from major accident, flood or fire damage, as well as odometer tampering.

To further reassure buyers, BYD Certified includes a five-day buy-back guarantee, allowing customers to return the vehicle for a full refund should previously undisclosed structural, flood or fire damage be discovered within five days of delivery.

Customers will also continue to enjoy warranty coverage and aftersales support through BYD's nationwide network of authorised 3S centres.

The programme is equally aimed at existing BYD owners, providing an official trade-in platform that enables customers to upgrade to a newer BYD model through a transparent evaluation process.

During the launch event, BYD Certified completed its first customer delivery with the handover of a pre-owned BYD Atto 3, marking the programme's first official sale in Malaysia.

"BYD Certified represents an important step in making EV ownership more accessible to Malaysians," said Jacob Ma, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia.

"As the EV market continues to mature, we're seeing growing interest from customers seeking quality pre-owned vehicles backed by assurance and professional support."

Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, added that every certified vehicle undergoes a stringent inspection process and is backed by verified vehicle history records, battery health assessments and warranty coverage, while also providing existing owners with a trusted trade-in channel.

The first BYD Certified outlet at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie offers a complete one-stop centre for certified vehicle purchases, trade-ins, financing, warranty support and aftersales services.

To encourage adoption, BYD Sime Motors is also offering financing packages with interest rates from 2.03%, subject to terms and conditions.

Customers interested in the programme can also visit the BYD Certified Weekend Showroom Event, which will take place from 24 to 26 July 2026 at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie.
