Mitsubishi reveals more details of next-generation Pajero, global debut on 2 September?

Mitsubishi Motors has released fresh details of the all-new Pajero ahead of its global debut this autumn, confirming that the iconic SUV will retain a ladder-frame chassis and feature the company's latest Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system.

According to Mitsubishi, the new Pajero has been engineered to combine genuine off-road capability with improved on-road refinement. The SUV will continue to use a robust ladder-frame construction, allowing it to tackle challenging terrain while delivering greater ride comfort and reduced vibration during everyday driving.

The company also confirmed the adoption of its integrated S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) vehicle dynamics system, which continuously manages traction, stability and handling according to changing road and driving conditions. Mitsubishi says the combination of the new chassis and S-AWC is designed to provide confident performance on everything from rough off-road trails to long-distance highway journeys.

A newly released teaser video also provides a closer look at the SUV's suspension setup, reinforcing Mitsubishi's focus on durability and ride quality ahead of the model's official unveiling later this year.

Meanwhile, Best Car reports that Mitsubishi is considering a performance-oriented Pajero Ralliart derivative. While details remain limited, the publication suggests the model could receive unique exterior styling, chassis upgrades and additional performance enhancements inspired by the Ralliart brand.

The report also speculates that Mitsubishi could offer an electrified powertrain with increased output over the standard model, although no technical specifications have been confirmed. As with previous Best Car reports, these details should be treated as speculation until officially announced by Mitsubishi.

The all-new Pajero was first confirmed in May this year, with Mitsubishi describing it as a new cross-country SUV that will mark the return of one of the brand's most iconic nameplates.
