No steering wheel, no pedals, no driver – and now Tesla is getting ready to put the Cybercab into service.
Tesla has confirmed a Cybercab Launch Event for 3 September, as its purpose-built robotaxi moves closer to production. Earlier reports had suggested that the company was looking to start production of the autonomous taxi as early as April.

The Cybercab looks more like a sleek coupe than a typical taxi, with a full-width light bar at the front and projector headlights that add to its futuristic look.

From the side, the low-slung body looks properly sporty, and the butterfly doors steal much of the attention.
At the rear, the design shares some of the Cybertruck's styling, including a full-width tail light.

Elon Musk has said the Cybercab will not have a steering wheel, accelerator or brake pedal, leaving the car to handle driving through Tesla's FSD system.

Inside, the seats use a single-piece design, with the backrest and cushion split into separate sections. A fold-away centre armrest sits between the seats, while a central screen is positioned in front.

There's no conventional charging port on the Cybercab. Instead, Tesla is expected to use wireless charging for the robotaxi.

The car is also reportedly being developed with a robotic arm that can clean the cabin, which would be a rather unusual feature even for a car as ambitious as the Cybercab.
