Volvo Cars to take over Lynk & Co's commercial operations in Europe from January 2027

Geely Auto Group and Volvo Cars have finalised the agreement for the commercial partnership for Lynk & Co in Europe.

Under the agreement, Volvo Cars will become Lynk & Co's exclusive distributor in Europe from January 2027, and will be responsible for the brand's commercial operations and market development in the region.

The two companies will combine their resources and networks as they look to expand Lynk & Co's European business.

Ownership remains unchanged

The agreement does not involve any changes to Lynk & Co's ownership structure. Geely Auto Group will continue to oversee the brand's global product design, research and development, regulatory certification and overall brand strategy.

Lynk & Co will also remain part of Geely Auto Group's global ecosystem, maintaining its brand positioning around being "trendy, vibrant and personal".

Its global product lineup will complement Volvo Cars, giving the two brands distinct positions while catering to different customer needs in Europe and other markets.

For Lynk & Co, the agreement will change how the brand operates in Europe. By using Volvo Cars' established commercial infrastructure, including its retail network and after-sales facilities, Lynk & Co will move towards a more scalable retail model.

This should also give the brand access to more customers in the region without requiring it to build the same retail and service infrastructure itself.

For Volvo Cars' retail partners, adding Lynk & Co will bring another brand with a clearly defined and distinctive identity to their showrooms. It will also create additional opportunities for vehicle sales and after-sales business while allowing retailers to serve a broader customer base.

Both sides see long-term potential

Erik Severinson, Chief Commercial Officer at Volvo Cars, said, "This agreement enables Volvo Cars and our retail partners to reach more customers with a broader and differentiated portfolio of cars and through increased sales and service opportunities."

The business will be led by Martin Persson, who will report directly to Severinson.

Wang Mo, CEO of Lynk & Co International, said, "This partnership brings together Volvo Cars' established commercial infrastructure and Lynk & Co's distinctive brand and product proposition. We will work closely with Volvo Cars to turn this partnership into sustainable long-term growth."

The two companies have already worked together in Europe for several years, with some European showrooms operating under a shared retail model.

The new exclusive distribution agreement will take effect in January 2027, further expanding the cooperation between the two brands as Geely continues to grow its presence in global markets.
