RM449,888 for a 650 PS all-electric sedan. Just a few years ago, that money would barely get you a German performance car with just over 400 PS, before you even started ticking the options list.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N rewrites the rulebook. Officially launched at KLIMS 2026 alongside the Ioniq 5 N, it retails at RM449,888 in Malaysia—RM6,000 more than its 5 N sibling.
Offered in a single variant, it arrives as a fully imported (CBU) unit from South Korea on a built-to-order basis.

Note: N Grin Boost is a temporary overboost function with a limited run time.

This isn’t just marketing fluff. The World Car Awards jury comprises motoring journalists worldwide who judge strictly on real-world performance, technical merit, and value.
The Ioniq 6 N edged out the BMW M2 CS and Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray to take the crown. This marks the Hyundai N's second win in three years, following the Ioniq 5 N's victory in 2024.

The Ioniq 6 N runs a dual-motor AWD setup producing 226 PS up front and 383 PS at the rear under standard conditions, delivering a combined 609 PS and 740 Nm.
Hit the N Grin Boost button, and the front and rear outputs jump to 238 PS and 412 PS respectively, briefly bumping total output to a staggering 650 PS and 770 Nm. Engaged with N Launch Control, it sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, topping out at 257 km/h.

On paper, the 6 N is 0.2 seconds quicker to 100 km/h than the Ioniq 5 N, though its top speed is 3 km/h lower. But numbers don’t tell the whole story.
The Ioniq 5 N is a high-riding crossover with an upright driving position, ample cabin room, and stellar everyday practicality.
The Ioniq 6 N, meanwhile, is a low-slung performance sedan with a slick 0.27 Cd drag coefficient, sitting lower, wider, and far more planted. Built upon the Ioniq 6 Streamliner architecture with bespoke suspension geometry, it offers a lower centre of gravity and noticeably sharper turn-in.
If you want an EV that truly drives like a thoroughbred sports car, the 6 N hits all the right notes compared to the 5 N.
This is where the Ioniq 6 N genuinely sets itself apart.

The N e-Shift system mimics the shift points and kick of an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) by momentarily modulating motor torque, giving you the tactile feel of cycling through gears under hard acceleration.
N Active Sound+ pumps synthesized performance notes through the cabin and exterior speakers, featuring a new Lightspeed sound profile on the 6 N.
Rather than just cutting traction control, the N Drift Optimizer lets you dial in drift entry angles and wheelspin for predictable, tailor-made sideways action.
Furthermore, N Torque Distribution allows 11 levels of front-to-rear torque bias adjustment, N Race features dedicated Sprint and Endurance modes, and N Battery Preconditioning prepares the pack to optimal temperatures before you hit the track.

These features aren't meant to pretend the car is petrol-powered; they exist to provide sensory cues on speed, load, and inertia. In an era where EVs are getting fast in a straight line but increasingly numb to drive, Hyundai has delivered an engaging alternative.
Powered by an 84 kWh NMC battery pack, it claims a WLTP range of 487 km. For a 650 PS performance machine, that is remarkably usable. It easily handles daily commutes and long-distance highway hauls, proving it is far more than just a track toy that runs out of juice after two hot laps.

Thanks to its 800V architecture, ultra-fast 350 kW DC charging juices the battery from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes.
Standard AC charging supports up to 10.5 kW, taking around 7 hours and 35 minutes for a full 10-100% charge. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability is also standard, delivering up to 3.6 kW of external power.

The Ioniq 6 N rides on stroke-sensing Electronic Control Suspension (ECS), which constantly reads road inputs via integrated sensors to deliver pliant ride comfort in daily traffic and rock-solid body control when driven hard.
Up front are MacPherson struts paired with a multi-link rear setup, anchored by 400 mm front and 360 mm rear ventilated brake discs.
An electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) works seamlessly with N Torque Distribution to actively shuttle drive out of corners.
Additional structural adhesives and spot welds around the rear floor and underbody deliver a significantly stiffer chassis than the standard Ioniq 6.

Inside, you get dual 12.3-inch displays with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, a 50W wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, an N-exclusive steering wheel, and body-hugging bucket seats trimmed in a mix of leather and Alcantara.

Safety is well-catered for with a full ADAS suite including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera.
275/35 R20 Pirelli P Zero Elect tyres wrap 20-inch forged alloy wheels, while a functional swan-neck rear wing keeps the tail planted at high speeds.
It comes with an 8-year or 160,000 km full factory warranty covering the high-voltage battery.
Buyers also enjoy a complimentary home wallbox charger or RM1,800 in charging credits, RM2,000 worth of exclusive N merchandise, and financing rates starting from 1.97%.
Hyundai Motor Malaysia currently operates 12 outlets, with plans to expand to 25 locations nationwide by late 2026, including the eastern region.

This car is built for a very specific enthusiast: someone who craves a 650 PS pure electric performance sedan without trading away everyday comfort and usable range.
If you value driver engagement and genuinely appreciate the tactile drama that N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ bring to the table, this fits the bill. It effortlessly pulls double duty as a track-day weapon on weekends and a refined daily driver during the week, built for those who don't need a legacy badge to validate their purchase.
If straight-line drag times are all you care about, the Model 3 Performance delivers comparable 0-100 km/h sprint times at nearly half the price.
If you have your heart set on a Bavarian badge, the i4 M50's brand prestige and dynamic pedigree make a compelling case for the extra RM19,088.
And if you're chasing ultimate track pedigree and sheer badge appeal, the Taycan occupies an entirely different concession altogether.

The Ioniq 6 N’s greatest strength is how seamlessly it bundles power, usable range, day-to-day practicality, and unadulterated driving fun into one cohesive package.
With 650 PS, a 3.2-second 0-100 km/h sprint, 487 km WLTP range, 18-minute DC charging, N e-Shift, N Active Sound+, ECS damping, and a swan-neck spoiler, you simply cannot find another package this complete for RM449,888 in Malaysia today.
