2026 Zeekr X from RM158,800: Premium vs Flagship – which one should you buy?

In June 2026, Zeekr Malaysia officially introduced the updated Zeekr X. The new electric SUV is available in two variants: the rear-wheel drive Premium and the all-wheel drive Flagship, priced at RM158,800 and RM175,800 respectively.

At present, it remains fully imported (CBU) from China, with local assembly (CKD) expected in the pipeline.

The Zeekr X measures 4,432 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width, and 1,566 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. It looks like a high-riding hatchback.

While most SUVs strive for towering proportions and cabin space, the Zeekr X takes the opposite path with a low-slung stance, large alloy wheels, and frameless doors.

Differences between two variants

The powertrain is the defining difference. 

The Premium is driven by a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 340 PS (250 kW) and 373 Nm, completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.3 seconds.

Packed with a 61 kWh LFP battery, it delivers a WLTP range of 445 km. It supports 11 kW AC charging, taking around 7.5 hours for a full charge.

The Flagship steps up with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup delivering a combined 496 PS (365 kW) and 573 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

Equipped with a 66 kWh NMC battery, it offers a WLTP range of 415 km. It also supports 22 kW AC charging, completing a full charge in around 4 hours.

Both models support up to 150 kW DC fast charging, getting from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes, though the Premium can hit peak rates approaching 200 kW in practice.

Equipment variations are also noticeable. The Premium comes standard with a black-and-white dual-tone interior, a 24.3-inch AR head-up display, and 19-inch wheels. The Flagship exclusively gets front ventilated and massage seats, an all-black cabin accented by red stitching and red seatbelts, along with 20-inch black forged alloy wheels.

Much of the kit, however, is shared. Both variants feature powered automatic doors, an onboard 5.7-litre refrigerator (-6°C to 50°C), a 14.6-inch infotainment display paired with an 8.8-inch digital cluster, a 13-speaker Yamaha audio, 50W wireless charging, 7 airbags, and full ADAS features.

Premium or Flagship?

What does the RM17,000 price gap buy you?

All-wheel drive, an additional 156 PS and 200 Nm, a 1.6-second quicker 0-100 km/h time, double the AC charging speed, front seat ventilation with massage functions, and 20-inch wheels.

For daily urban commuting, the Premium is more than plenty. With 340 PS pushing the rear wheels, a 5.3-second sprint to 100 km/h is exceptionally brisk. Its 445 km range also offers 30 km more than the Flagship, delivering extra breathing room for the everyday drive.

If outright driving excitement is what you are after, the Flagship is well worth it. A 3.7-second sprint is practically unrivaled among electric SUVs at this price point. The AWD system also gives higher confidence on slippery road surfaces.

The Zeekr X carves out its own path through low-slung proportions and a premium cabin. It does not target family buyers prioritising maximum space, but appeals to drivers who value design, tactile quality, and individuality.

The division between the two variants is straightforward: the Premium is a refined city commuter, while the Flagship is the sportier version.
