Bermaz Xpeng hands over first CKD locally assembled G6 units in Malaysia

Bermaz Xpeng has delivered the first batch of locally assembled (CKD) Xpeng G6 units to Malaysian customers, marking the start of customer deliveries for the locally produced EV SUV.

The handover ceremony took place at Kuala Lumpur Tower on 5 September 2026, bringing together early customers for a group delivery event at one of Malaysia’s most recognisable landmarks.

The CKD Xpeng G6 is produced at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s facility in Melaka. It retains the model’s key strengths, including its efficiency, intelligent features and fast-charging capability.

Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the G6 can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 12 minutes, making it better suited to long-distance travel and everyday use in Malaysia.

According to Bermaz Xpeng, the start of local assembly and customer deliveries reflects Xpeng’s continued efforts to strengthen its presence in Malaysia, supported by improved ownership support and a growing nationwide dealer network.

The company also confirmed that deliveries of the 2026 Xpeng X9 have begun nationwide.

Positioned as a premium electric MPV, the 2026 Xpeng X9 is aimed at family buyers and comes with a spacious and versatile cabin, advanced comfort features and intelligent driving technologies.

With the locally assembled G6 now reaching customers and 2026 Xpeng X9 deliveries underway, Xpeng is continuing to expand its electric vehicle line-up in Malaysia.
