Fuel prices drop: Unsubsidised RON95, RON97 and diesel all decrease from October 22 - October 28, 2026.

Motorists paying market rates for fuel will get a welcome relief starting today with the Ministry of Finance announcing a sharp drop across unsubsidised RON95, RON97, and diesel for the period of October 22 to 28.

Fuel Prices at a Glance (Oct 22 – Oct 28, 2026)

Fuel Type New Price / Litre Price Change
RON 95 (Subsidised / BUDI95) RM 1.99 No change
RON 95 (Unsubsidised) RM 4.32 ⬇️ Down 30 seconds
RON 97 RM 4.80 ⬇️ Down 30 seconds
Diesel (Subsidized / BUDI Diesel) RM 2.10 No change
Diesel (Peninsular Retail Market) RM 5.07 ⬇️ Down 10 seconds
Diesel (East Malaysia Subsidised) RM 2.15 No change

The latest revision sees RON97 fall by 30 sen from RM5.10 to RM4.80 per litre while unsubsidised RON95 drops by 30 sen from RM4.62 to RM4.32 per litre. Meanwhile retail diesel in Peninsular Malaysia decreases by 10 sen from RM5.17 to RM5.07 per litre.

Subsidised fuel prices remain untouched.

Eligible Malaysians under the BUDI95 programme will continue to pay RM1.99 per litre for RON95 while BUDI Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia stays at RM2.10 per litre (RM2.15 per litre in East Malaysia). Prices under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) also remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively.

The latest adjustment follows the government's weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) which tracks movements in international fuel prices.

For motorists using unsubsidised RON95 or RON97, this week's 30-sen reduction means a 50-litre fill-up now costs RM15.00 less than it did last week, while Peninsular diesel drivers save RM5.00 per full tank.
