Li Auto Mega and Dongfeng Voyah Dream spotted in Malaysia – two luxury MPVs, one with a lounge inside!

Two Chinese luxury MPVs have been spotted together in Malaysia, with the Dongfeng Voyah Dream and Li Auto Mega appearing under camouflage at what looks like storage facility, per this photo shared by Reddit user u/twinstackz.

The photos show the Voyah Dream from the front, parked alongside a heavily disguised Li Auto Mega. While Dongfeng has already confirmed plans to introduce the Voyah brand locally, the Mega is the more interesting sighting, as Li Auto has yet to announce its entry into Malaysia.

Dongfeng Voyah Dream already confirmed for Malaysia

The Voyah Dream isn't entirely new to Malaysian audiences, having made its local preview at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 in June.

More recently, Dongfeng distributor Volt Auto Malaysia confirmed that its successor, the Voyah Dream 9, is planned for a Malaysian launch in the first quarter of 2027, with both fully electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions expected to be offered.

The Dream 9 will initially be imported from China, with local assembly planned further down the line. It will also be sold through dedicated Voyah showrooms, separate from Dongfeng's mainstream vehicle range.

For reference, the earlier Dream model displayed at KLIMS featured a 1.5-litre turbocharged plug-in hybrid powertrain producing a combined 653 PS and 915 Nm, with a claimed combined driving range of up to 1,500 km.

The Dream 9 is a newer model, however, so these figures should not be taken as its confirmed Malaysian specifications.

Li Auto Mega could be another contender

The bigger surprise is the Li Auto Mega, a fully electric luxury MPV recognised by its unusual aerodynamic body shape.

Li Auto introduced an updated Mega in China in September 2026, priced from RMB 509,800, approximately RM300,000 before Malaysian taxes and duties.

The latest Mega features a 102.7-kWh battery and a claimed driving range of up to 710 km under the Chinese CLTC testing cycle, along with ultra-fast charging capable of adding a claimed 500 km of range in approximately ten minutes under suitable conditions.

It also has an unusual interior arrangement. Its second-row seats can rotate to face the third row, creating a lounge-style seating area complete with a table. Li Auto calls this its Lounge Mode, effectively turning the rear cabin into a mobile living room.

Interestingly, Li Auto has already confirmed plans to expand into right-hand-drive markets, including Singapore and Thailand, making a Malaysian introduction technically feasible.

However, the sighting alone doesn't confirm a launch. The photographed vehicle could be undergoing evaluation, testing or other activities unrelated to an official Malaysian introduction.

It looks like Malaysia will soon be welcoming two more electrified MPVs. And one of them is a very quirky MPV. 1 minute ago Some said that this camouflaged car is a Proton eMas 3, but we beg to differ. We think that this might be hiding something else instead. #proton #protonemas5 1 minute ago Almost 30 years in the making, Toyota has refined their hybrid offering. And it's properly proven. 11 hours ago
