Mazda plans to introduce the next-generation CX-3 in Japan and ASEAN in 2027, with production taking place at its factory in Thailand.
The new B-segment SUV will also take on a bigger role in the line-up, as Mazda explicitly describes it as a new-generation entry-level model replacing the Mazda 2, making the CX-3 a key part of its efforts to bring more customers into the brand.

The wording in Mazda’s Integrated Report is clear: the next CX-3 will take over the entry-level role from the Mazda 2 and bring the brand’s latest offerings to a wider audience.

That makes this more than a regular replacement for the existing CX-3. Mazda is putting the B-segment SUV at the front of its future range, in a position traditionally occupied by its small hatchback and sedan.
On top of that, we can also expect the next-gen Mazda CX-3 to feature some form of electrification, likely adopting Mazda's mild-hybrid (MHEV) technology. While the same row in the presentation mentions PHEV, it's unlikely for Mazda's entry-level model to feature a PHEV system due to its costs.
Mazda says the next CX-3 will be built in Thailand and introduced to both Japan and ASEAN during 2027.
As such, a Malaysian debut should be taking place a couple of months after its Thai debut.
