Spied! 2027 iCaur V25 spotted in Glenmarie, set to be iCaur Malaysia’s first REEV?

It appears that Chery is busy testing several vehicles at once, as the 2027 iCaur V25 has been spotted again. The difference is, this time, we saw the car with our own eyes.

This particular unit is wearing the B3017A trade plate – the very trade plate that’s also found on the Chery Q that was spotted earlier.

As reported earlier, this is a very early look at the right-hand drive (RHD) version of the iCaur V25. The left-hand drive (LHD) version debuted in China just a couple of weeks ago, hinting that Chery developed both LHD and RHD models concurrently, emphasizing on its export aspirations.

Tell me more about the iCaur V25

The iCaur V25 can be considered as a model that’s larger than the popular V23, but smaller than the V27. After all, its V25 name already implies as such.

Unlike the fully-electric iCaur 03 and V23, the iCaur V25 is a range-extender EV (REEV), featuring a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that serves as an on-board power generator, producing 156 PS.

Although a REEV may have an engine, the unit only serves as an on-board power generator for the 33.68-kWh battery pack and does not drive the wheels. The electric motor is the main motivator here.

Under the WLTC test cycle, the iCaur V25 is said to return between 145 km to 150 km of pure electric range.
