2026 Chengdu Motor Show: The Yangwang U9 Ultimate hits 100km/h in 2.36 seconds

Four motors, 960kW and a 0-100km/h time of just 2.36 seconds – the Yangwang U9 Ultimate is one of the wildest cars at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show.

The new top-tier version of the U9 takes the already extreme electric supercar a step further, with more carbon-fibre aero, a more focused cabin and a clear bias towards track performance.

First up, the U9 Ultimate gets an exclusive Azure Sea Green paint finish, which really suits the car's low, wide stance. Parked under the Chengdu Motor Show lights, it is hard to mistake this for anything other than the top-spec U9.

It keeps the U9's low, nose-down supercar stance, but the Ultimate adds a full set of carbon-fibre aerodynamic parts.

The oversized front splitter and carbon-fibre rear wing are the first things that catch your eye. Both can adjust their angle depending on the car's speed and driving mode, adding downforce at higher speeds without creating unnecessary drag.

Inside, the U9 Ultimate gets a Golden Sand White interior, with extensive carbon-fibre trim and suede covering much of the cabin.

The focus here is on the driver, with some of the less essential entertainment features left out in favour of a more focused driving environment.

A sporty steering wheel, fully digital instrument display and track-specific UI complete the setup, giving the cabin a much more purposeful feel.

More importantly, the U9 Ultimate is not just for the track. It is still comfortable enough to drive on the road, so you can use it as an everyday car.

Under the skin, it keeps the same e⁴ platform as the standard U9.

It features a four-motor setup paired with the DiSus-X intelligent body control system, producing a combined 960 kW and 1,680 Nm. The motors can rev to 21,000 rpm.

Total output is rated at more than 1,300 PS, and the 0-100km/h time is just 2.36 seconds.
