Bermaz’s 12th Mazda Charity Golf Tournament supports medical care and welfare in Malaysia

Bermaz Motor brought together 200 participants for its 12th Mazda Charity Golf Tournament, held at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club on 9 and 10 October 2026, to support medical treatment and welfare programmes through the Mazda Medicare Fund.

The two-day event drew Mazda customers, business partners, government representatives and golf enthusiasts. It remains an annual fundraising fixture for the fund, which assists patients facing financial hardship and supports welfare organisations across Malaysia.

Five beneficiaries recognised at charity luncheon

The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, attended the charity luncheon on 10 October. His Royal Highness has served as Royal Patron of the Mazda Medicare Fund since 2015.

Representatives from five beneficiary organisations received symbolic cheques during the luncheon:

• Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital
• Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak Kanak Yatim Dan Cacat Perlindungan Selangor
• Pusat Jagaan Anak Anak Yatim Sai Pandian
• Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Dan Asnaf Kampung Sijankang
• Yayasan Al Sultan Abdullah

The recipients cover a range of needs, including cancer treatment, children’s welfare and assistance for vulnerable communities. Bermaz did not disclose the total amount raised or the individual allocations in its announcement.

Bermaz Auto executive chairman Tan Sri Ben Yeoh said the tournament reflects the company’s commitment to putting corporate responsibility into practice, with partners, customers and public agencies contributing to a shared cause.

Mazda Medicare Fund began with dialysis support

Established in 2015 through a collaboration between Prima Merdu Sdn Bhd and B. Braun Avitum Renal Services, the Mazda Medicare Fund initially focused on helping financially disadvantaged patients with end-stage kidney disease access haemodialysis treatment.

Its work has since expanded to include elderly care homes, orphanages, disability centres and facilities for children with special needs.

According to Bermaz, beneficiaries undergo an assessment process to ensure contributions are directed towards suitable organisations and patients.

Mazda owners can contribute through the Privilege Card

Support for the fund continues beyond the annual tournament through the Mazda Privilege Card, introduced in 2018.

The programme carries a one-time RM 100 registration fee, which goes directly to the Mazda Medicare Fund. Bermaz says the contribution qualifies for tax exemption under Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri provisions.

Cardholders also receive 15% off selected Mazda genuine spare parts and 5% off labour charges at Bermaz Motor and Prima Merdu Mazda showrooms and service centres nationwide, giving owners a way to support the fund while receiving savings on eligible maintenance work.
