Porsche’s upcoming range-topping seven-seater SUV, codenamed
K1, will reportedly use the same underpinnings as the forthcoming
Audi Q9, shifting away from earlier pure-electric plans.

This full-size luxury SUV will target rivals like the
Mercedes‑Benz GLS and
BMW X7, focused mainly on the US, Middle East and China – markets highly relevant to Malaysian luxury buyers.

It will be built on Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. Engine choices will include a 3.0L turbo V6 and 4.0L twin‑turbo V8, with a next‑generation PHEV hybrid also possible.
Originally planned as a pure EV on the SSP platform, Porsche changed direction due to slower EV demand. A fully electric K1 may still appear later, meaning the model could offer both ICE and EV variants.

Production is expected to take place alongside the Audi Q9 at Volkswagen’s Bratislava plant in Slovakia.
For Malaysian fans, the K1 will become Porsche’s largest and most family‑oriented model yet, bringing the brand’s sporty DNA into the full‑size seven‑seat luxury SUV segment.
