2026 Leapmotor C10 Plus Launched in Malaysia: Specs, Price & Offers

Leapmotor has officially launched its 2026 electric SUV in Malaysia, badged as the C10 Plus. The much-awaited model finally gets the major mechanical upgrades that debuted in China last year, though it comes with a noticeable price hike compared to the outgoing 2025 variant — which will still be sold as a more affordable option for local buyers.

First, let’s break down the pricing, which is the biggest concern for Malaysian car buyers. The Leapmotor C10 Plus is priced at RM148,000, a RM23,000 increase from the previous model. This jump is likely due to the end of CBU EV tax incentives last year; Stellantis Malaysia had previously planned to start CKD local assembly by late 2023, but there’s no update on this in the latest press release.

Thankfully, there are attractive offers to soften the blow. A RM9,000 rebate brings the effective price down to RM139,000 (a RM14,000 difference from the old model). Early-bird buyers also get a RM4,000 insurance subsidy, totaling savings of up to RM13,000 — a welcome perk for those looking to switch to an EV.

For context, the Leapmotor C10 Plus is a mid-size electric SUV, positioning itself as a value-for-money option in Malaysia’s growing EV market. It competes with other popular EVs like the BYD Atto 3 and Hyundai Kona Electric, targeting families and daily commuters who want a balance of range, performance and affordability.

Now, the upgrades that justify the price: range and charging. The C10 Plus gets a larger 81.9 kWh LFP battery (up from 69.9 kWh), paired with improved energy efficiency of 15.1 kWh/100km. This boosts its WLTP range to 510 km — 86 km more than the outgoing model, which means fewer charging stops for long drives around Peninsular Malaysia or even up to East Malaysia.

Charging is also faster, thanks to the new 800-volt architecture. DC fast charging power has jumped from 84 kW to 180 kW, so topping up the battery from 30% to 80% now takes just 22 minutes — 8 minutes quicker than before. AC charging remains at 11 kW, which is suitable for home or public AC charging points across the country.

Performance has gotten a boost too. The single rear motor now delivers 299 PS (220 kW) and 360 Nm of torque — 81 PS and 40 Nm more than the old model. This cuts the 0-100 km/h sprint time to 6.2 seconds (down by 1.5 seconds) and increases the top speed to 190 km/h (up 20 km/h), making it more responsive for city driving and highway overtakes.

In terms of design and features, there are no major changes from the 2025 model — it still lacks Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and powered door handles, which might be a letdown for some buyers. However, Leapmotor has introduced a new Night Edition for those who want a sportier look, priced at an additional RM8,000 (RM156,000 before rebate, RM147,000 after rebate). This variant comes with a two-tone black roof, a sporty bodykit (front chin spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser) and matte black 20-inch “Trident” alloy wheels.

Warranty coverage remains unchanged, which is reassuring: 6 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle, plus an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for the battery — important for EV buyers worried about long-term maintenance costs.

With the C10 Plus, Leapmotor aims to strengthen its presence in Malaysia’s EV market, offering a well-rounded package with better range, faster charging and more performance — all at a price that’s competitive, especially with the available rebates and subsidies.
