On March 24, Xiaomi Group released its 2025 full-year financial report, with performance soaring to a new all-time high. A standout highlight was the intelligent electric vehicle division, which delivered exceptional results as annual revenue surpassed the RMB 100 billion milestone for the first time. This historic financial milestone has once again ignited anticipation among Malaysian car enthusiasts, who are eagerly waiting for Xiaomi's automotive lineup to make its official debut in the local market.

The financial report reveals that Xiaomi's total revenue in 2025 reached RMB 457.29 billion (approximately RM 297.24 billion), a year-on-year increase of 25%. Adjusted net profit rose to RMB 39.17 billion (approximately RM 25.46 billion), marking a 44% year-on-year surge and slightly exceeding market expectations. A standout performer was the intelligent electric vehicle and AI innovative business segments, which generated RMB 106.1 billion (approximately RM 68.965 billion) in revenue — a massive 223.8% year-on-year increase. This division has become the core engine of the group's overall growth.

In the automotive sector, Xiaomi delivered a total of 411,082 vehicles in 2025, representing a 200.4% year-on-year increase. The Xiaomi SU7 dominated the domestic market, ranking as the top-selling sedan priced above RMB 200,000. Furthermore, the next-generation SU7 has sustained this momentum, securing over 30,000 firm orders within just three days of its launch. Positioned as a high-end pure electric sports sedan, the SU7 is priced between RMB 219,900 and RMB 303,900 (approximately RM 142,900 to RM 197,500). With its striking design and advanced intelligent ecosystem, it is poised to become the flagship model for Xiaomi's global expansion.
For the Malaysian market, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch amid rumors of Xiaomi's imminent entry. Sources suggest that Xiaomi is actively scouting for local dealership partners and evaluating various collaboration models, with a potential official announcement as early as 2026. The Xiaomi SU7 is expected to be the debut model, and the brand has not ruled out the possibility of future CKD local assembly in Malaysia.
Xiaomi has already established a robust consumer electronics and AIoT ecosystem in Malaysia. The recent launch of the Xiaomi 17 series and the unveiling of an electric supercar concept have further laid the groundwork for its automotive business. As Malaysia's EV market continues its rapid growth, Xiaomi's entry — backed by its product competitiveness and vast ecosystem — is expected to inject a new level of vitality into the local pure electric segment.
Additionally, Xiaomi's annual R&D investment reached RMB 33.1 billion (approximately RM 21.515 billion), with plans to invest RMB 60 billion (approximately RM 39 billion) into the AI sector over the next three years. This sustained technological commitment will provide a powerful foundation for the global rollout of its automotive business.
