The 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS 2026) is currently in full swing, and Toyota's facelifted pure electric crossover SUV, the 2026 bZ4X, has officially made its debut. Built on the e-TNGA dedicated pure electric platform, this model first landed in the Thai market as early as November last year. This auto show once again draws the attention of Southeast Asian consumers and also sets the stage for its upcoming entry into the Malaysian market.

As the core model of Toyota's pure electric family, the facelifted bZ4X is positioned as a practical family crossover SUV, balancing daily urban commuting with light outdoor travel. The overall design continues Toyota's latest family style. The most recognizable exterior feature is undoubtedly the C-shaped split headlight cluster. The slender daytime running lights paired with a closed grille and a layered bumper perfectly blend a sense of technology with sportiness. The smoked full-width taillight cluster at the rear further enhances the vehicle's aura. Some versions offer optional black wheel arches and roof racks to meet users' personalized needs.

The interior design centers on convenience and practicality. Instead of blindly pursuing a fully touch-controlled layout, it retains physical knobs for air conditioning and volume control, effectively avoiding the safety hazards of blind operation while driving. The 14-inch floating central infotainment display links with the 7-inch instrument panel, offering clear and easy-to-understand operation logic. Paired with dual wireless charging pads, it precisely meets current multi-device usage scenarios.

It is worth noting that the vehicle's battery temperature control system performs excellently, effectively mitigating the power loss issue of ternary lithium batteries in low-temperature environments and ensuring range stability. Although it is not equipped with an 800V high-voltage platform or LiDAR, its robust and reliable product settings are more in line with the needs of family users who prefer durability.

The facelifted bZ4X exhibited at this Bangkok Motor Show offers two versions in the Thai market: front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), with a clear and transparent pricing range. The FWD version is priced at 1.529 million baht, approximately RM 185,468; the AWD version is priced at 1.649 million baht, approximately RM 200,024. Its cost-effectiveness holds a certain degree of competitiveness among pure electric SUVs in the same class.

In terms of power and range, both versions are equipped with a 73.1 kWh lithium battery. The FWD version features a single front motor with a maximum power of 224 PS and a peak torque of 269 Nm, achieving a WLTP range of up to 525 km (NEDC range of 600 km). The AWD version adopts a dual-motor layout, adding a 118 PS/170 Nm rear motor to the FWD motor setup, delivering a combined maximum power of 343 PS and a WLTP range of 481 km (NEDC range of 570 km).

Regarding charging performance, the vehicle supports up to 22 kW AC charging and 150 kW DC fast charging. It takes only 28 minutes to replenish the battery from 10% to 80%, significantly alleviating users' charging anxiety.

On the configuration front, the facelifted bZ4X balances comfort and safety. It comes standard with leather seats, power-adjustable front and rear seats, and supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto mobile connectivity. It is also equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense intelligent safety suite, covering functions such as pre-collision automatic braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. Paired with 8 airbags, it comprehensively protects the safety of the driver and passengers.

For exterior colors, it offers monotone options such as Attitude Black, Precious Metal Silver, and Platinum White. Some colors can also be paired with a black roof to form a two-tone scheme, satisfying the aesthetic preferences of different consumers.

Furthermore, while a "Touring" light off-road edition has been introduced in select overseas markets, there are currently no official plans to debut this variant in Thailand or Malaysia.
