In Malaysia, you can’t talk about B-segment sedans without mentioning the Honda City. While the current GN generation remains a top pick for many Malaysian families, the "big screen, 360 camera, and ambient lighting" onslaught from competitors means it's high time for the City to get an upgrade.
Recently, overseas spy shots of the 2027 mid-life facelift have surfaced, and the details are promising. Instead of a major radical redesign, Honda is focusing on fixing the "missing features" that Malaysian consumers have been asking for.

Based on heavily camouflaged spy shots from Brazil, the 2027 City is clearly following the "Civic route."
Front Fascia: It will feature a more 3D honeycomb grille and a more aggressive front bumper design.
Lighting: The headlights are expected to get internal structural tweaks for a sharper look.
Wheels: As a standard facelift move, expect new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

What’s a Malaysian car buyer’s biggest fear? The heat. While the current City has a decent interior, it has fallen behind in terms of features compared to its rivals.
360-degree Camera: This is almost certain to be included, making parking a breeze.
Ventilated Seats: A long-awaited "god-tier" feature for Malaysian weather. If included, it will drastically boost the City’s competitiveness.
Cabin Refinement: The 8-inch infotainment screen is expected to remain, but with a refreshed UI and continued support for Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

The 1.5L naturally aspirated engine in the Brazilian market is now tuned to 126 PS, slightly higher than Malaysia’s current 121 PS.
Predicted Tech Specs:
Engine: 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC NA / 1.5L i-MMD Hybrid
Max Power: $121 PS$ to $126 PS$ (Market dependent)
Max Torque: $145 Nm$ (NA) / $253 Nm$ (RS Hybrid)
Transmission: CVT / e-CVT (Hybrid)
While the core architecture remains the same, this powertrain's reputation for fuel efficiency and reliability remains the top choice for KL-PJ daily commuters.

Safety has always been Honda’s forte. The facelifted City is expected to come with the full Honda Sensing suite across most variants, including:
ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow)
LKAS (Lane Keep Assist System)
CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System)
AHB (Auto High Beam)
Following Honda's typical timeline, the new model is expected to debut in Southeast Asia by late 2026 or early 2027.
If you’re looking for a new car but aren't in a rush, this "ultimate version" of the City—with its 360 camera, ventilated seats, and potentially more power—is worth the wait. After all, its interior space and practicality remain unbeaten in the B-segment.
So, if the 2027 City comes with ventilated seats and a 360 camera, would you pick it over the Vios?
