On the eve of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show (Auto China 2026), Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled the highly anticipated long-wheelbase (LWB) Electric GLC SUV.
Far more than a mere electric adaptation of the standard GLC, this model is engineered on the dedicated MB.EA platform. Its wheelbase has been extended to a commanding 3,027 mm, making room for an unprecedented six-seater configuration.

The front fascia is defined by a new illuminated grille featuring 942 polycarbonate backlight particles, which produce a sophisticated sequential greeting as the driver approaches. The signature digital light headlamps incorporate Mercedes' iconic star motifs.

Measuring 4,933 mm in length, the Electric GLC surpasses its internal combustion (ICE) counterpart in scale and adds a practical 128L front trunk (frunk).
The cabin is centered around the MBUX Hyperscreen, utilizing 1,000 independent LED zones for precision local dimming. Driven by the new MB.OS, the cockpit is further enhanced by a 19-speaker Burmester® surround sound system.

A first for the GLC lineup, the 2+2+2 layout features individual second-row seats that support both ventilation and heating.
Performance: Powered by the eATS 2.0 drive system and 4MATIC AWD, the SUV delivers 310 kW (416hp) and 800 Nm of torque.
Charging: Utilizing an 800V high-voltage architecture and an 89 kWh battery, it achieves a CLTC range of over 700 km. A 20-minute charge provides enough energy for approximately two weeks of typical commuting.

While this LWB variant is a China-exclusive, it serves as a high-tech preview of the future Mercedes-Benz portfolio in Malaysia. Is this the ultimate challenger to the Tesla Model Y and the forthcoming electric BMW X3?
