At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Leapmotor officially pulled the wraps off the Lafa5 Ultra, an enhanced version of its compact electric sedan. Featuring an aggressive factory bodykit and the brand's latest intelligent driving suite, the model has launched in China with a limited-time introductory price of CNY 118,800 (approx. RM78,500).
In Malaysia, Leapmotor is managed by Stellantis Malaysia, with the C10 and B10 SUVs currently serving as core offerings. The debut of the Lafa5 Ultra, with its high-spec hardware and competitive pricing, has sparked local interest in whether Stellantis will consider this model for future CKD (Local Assembly) production.

The Lafa5 Ultra is strategically designed to appeal to younger buyers through a factory-tuned aesthetic, integrating several aerodynamic upgrades.
Exclusive Sport Bodykit: Includes a dedicated front splitter, side skirts, and a prominent "Wind-Tamer" rear wing for enhanced downforce.
Aggressive Details: Features a de-chromed finish with Gunmetal Black emblems, complemented by 19-inch "V-Wing" alloy wheels and Matte Dark Grey calipers.
Sporty Silhouette: Retains the popular frameless doors and flush-fitting side windows, maintaining a clean, low-slung coupe profile.

Inside, the Lafa5 Ultra balances its sporty character with premium tactile materials and surprising luxury features.
Sporty Cockpit: The cabin utilizes extensive "Wind-Chaser Grey" faux suede (Alcantara-like) materials, paired with body-colored printed seatbelts to intensify the racing-inspired ambiance.
Premium Amenities: Rare for its class, the vehicle is equipped with 8-point front seat massage functions, providing a high level of comfort for long-distance cruising in Malaysia's tropical climate.

The Lafa5 Ultra's mechanical and digital architecture reflects its "Ultra" branding.
Drivetrain: Powered by a high-output motor producing 180 kW (approx. 245 PS). The chassis, co-tuned by a Sino-European team, is engineered to offer a balance of cornering stability and ride compliance.
Computing Power: Features a "Dual-Flagship" setup, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 cockpit platform and the NVIDIA Orin-X (8650) intelligent driving chip.
With its roof-mounted LiDAR, the Lafa5 Ultra supports nationwide Navigation Assist Pilot (NAP) in China, achieving advanced autonomous capabilities without reliance on high-definition maps.

As Leapmotor's current Malaysian lineup is SUV-centric, the introduction of a performance-oriented sedan like the Lafa5 could diversify Stellantis' local portfolio. Should it arrive as a CKD model priced between RM120,000 and RM130,000, its blend of 245PS performance and LiDAR-based tech would make it a highly disruptive alternative in the C-segment EV market.
