BYD has officially announced a price adjustment for its DiPilot (God's Eye) advanced intelligent driving assistance system in the Chinese market, effective from May 2026. The increase is attributed to rising global hardware costs.

The price hike specifically applies to the DiPilot B ADAS (LiDAR version).
Original Price: RMB 9,900 (approx. RM6,530)
New Price: RMB 12,000 (approx. RM7,920)
Effective Date: May 1, 2026
According to BYD, the adjustment is driven by a significant surge in global storage hardware costs. The company emphasised that maintaining product quality and ensuring long-term system performance and future updates are the primary reasons for this change.

The price revision affects high-end variants across several of BYD's core sub-brands, including:
Dynasty Series: Qin, Han, Tang, Song, and Yuan
Ocean Series: Seal and Sealion
Fang Cheng Bao: Professional off-road models
Customers in China who place their order and pay the deposit on or before April 30, 2026, will still be able to purchase the DiPilot B system at the original price of RMB 9,900.

Alongside the price update, BYD shared impressive statistics on its autonomous driving development. As of March 2026, more than 2.85 million BYD vehicles have been equipped with ADAS systems. The DiPilot system currently generates over 180 million kilometres of driving data daily, providing a solid foundation for continuous improvement and increasingly intelligent driving experiences.
Currently, BYD models sold in Malaysia — such as the Atto 3, Dolphin, and Seal — come with fixed specifications and do not offer optional ADAS hardware upgrades.
However, with the confirmed launch of Denza and other premium BYD models in the Malaysian market, it remains uncertain whether local consumers will eventually encounter similar optional hardware pricing or subscription-style models. This is a trend that deserves close attention.
